Job Summary:
Vail Resorts is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our WFM / Ops Team! As the leader in the ski industry, our strategy is focused on providing an experience of a lifetime to our employees so they in turn can provide an experience of a lifetime to our guests. We are seeking a high-performing individual that has the ambition and desire to learn and drive our WFM function projects forward to support our employees and growing business.

As the Senior HR Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing key WFM and employee experience initiatives for Vail Resorts. Reporting to the Director of WFM Strategy & Planning, you will lead the management of the top priorities for the Vail Resorts WFM and Operations team. This includes coordination within WFM, Operations, Finance, and HR teams, our Finance and HR business partners, or our employees and leaders. This is a leadership role with direct interactions with the Senior Leadership Team. To be successful in this role, you will establish yourself as the expert in project management, operations, bringing in best practices, and partnering with all leaders effectively.

Job Responsibilities:
Project Management:

Ability to socialize and manage a portfolio of projects in support of stated strategic objectives. Manage business operational impacts as well as technical components of the program or project. Provide vision and leadership regarding organizational design and resourcing of large, complex and undefined enterprise-wide initiatives including all aspects of management from vision through execution. Partner with all stakeholders to ensure scope is defined, requirements are developed according to the scope and quality experiences are delivered on time and on budget. Lead day-to-day project management activities including: project initiation, risk/issue identification and resolution, project planning, budgeting, people planning, scope management and communication. Provide project communication to project team and stakeholders, including weekly status, issues, risks, dependencies. Influence and successfully lead the change management efforts across programs and projects.


Leadership:

Ability to drive strategy, vision, direction, and prioritization on enterprise-wide projects and programs at the Executive level. Can manage initiatives from concept through to completion, including the development and presentation of a business case. Informed on industry standards and practices, and a forward thinker on new innovative approaches. Work to improve the project management discipline and capabilities within WFM and Operations. Become the expert and work with our team and other internal teams to continue improve our use of best practices. Demonstrate a passion for Vail Resorts employee experience, culture, mission and vision and inspire others to follow. Ability to drive RFI and RFP processes through to contract signature.


Financials:

Manage enterprise-wide programs with complex financial models including internal and external stakeholders and complex contract negotiation. Participate/oversee in the annual expense and capital budgeting processes and cycles for WFM, in collaboration with other team members. Identify and define the value and return of initiatives on the company’s performance and strategy.


Employee Management:

Ability to manage/oversee a significant number of internal and contract resources across multiple projects.


Job Qualifications:

5+ years of relevant work experience including proven ability to successfully lead and oversee multiple critical projects and regular software releases Connect with and lead others who do not directly report to you Regular exposure to Director and VP levels Experience with Agile / Scrum and Waterfall methodologies preferred Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies preferred Knowledge of the employee experience and quick ability to understanding key operational processes and value-drivers, preferred

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $103,596 - $120,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
