The PMO Senior Manager will manage the planning, execution, and evaluation of multiple projects within the Americas Manufacturing Operations, ensuring adherence to organizational goals and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include developing regional project management frameworks, processes, and tools to standardize practices and facilitate effective communication among project teams. This role will also involve providing regular updates on project status, risks, and performance to regional leadership and corporate stakeholders. Additionally, the Senior Manager will mentor and develop project managers within the region, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
• Oversee and manage the Project Management Office (PMO) within the Americas Manufacturing Operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and project management best practices.
• Direct the AMO project portfolio management process, ensuring effective prioritization and alignment of projects with strategic objectives.
• Lead all aspects of project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, to deliver high-quality outcomes within established timelines and budgets.
• Forecast and manage departmental operating costs and capital expenditures, ensuring financial accountability and resource optimization.
• Provide insights and updates to upper management regarding developments that may impact profit margins, project schedules, costs, customer relations, and interdepartmental dynamics.
• Analyze technology trends and human resource needs against market demands to inform project planning and resource allocation.
• Oversee validation activities, including the development of protocols, execution, and reporting of deviations to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project implementation timetables, ensuring clarity and accountability across project teams.
• Formalize a common project management framework that standardizes processes and methodologies across the region.
• Develop and maintain project monitoring documents, such as project dashboards and four-blocker reports, to facilitate real-time project tracking and stakeholder communication.
• Create and manage master project plans for AMO, ensuring all projects are aligned with strategic objectives and timelines.
• Oversee financial planning and capital expenditure management for projects, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and strategic priorities.
• Provide strategic planning support for AMO initiatives, aligning project goals with broader organizational objectives.
• Oversee project resource management, ensuring the right talent and skills are available for successful project execution while balancing workloads across the team.
• Mentor and develop project managers and team members within the region, promoting professional growth and skill enhancement.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability among project teams.
Travel:
Up to 25% travel in the US and Internationally.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Proven leadership skills Strong technical writing skills Knowledge of QRS regulation Bilingual (English/Spanish) Strong oral and written communication skills Strong presentation skills Personal computer knowledge (MS Office suite) Safety Regulation knowledge (OSHA) Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary Must be able to give clear direction, communicate expectations, and provide feedback and performance evaluation to all levels of personnel.Experience:
• At least ten years of relevant industrial experience
• Experience in pharmaceutical or medical device industry, preferred.
• Experience in supervising technical personnel
• Expertise in project management a most
• Experience in R&D, process development, and/or product development
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Prior experience in Lean Six Sigma; certification preferred
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or related field.
• Graduate degree in engineering or project management preferred
• PMI certification preferred
