Our Team
We have an exciting opportunity in our Business Credit Insight & Innovation team for a Senior Credit Risk Manager to lead our Portfolio & Insight activity. Liaising with senior stakeholders both internally and externally, managing the flow of credit risk information related to the business portfolio across a wide network. Leading a team of experts, embedding a high performance, curious culture ensuring our standards and capabilities meet the expectations of a Category 1 firm.
What you’ll be doing
Develop and Deliver Credit Risk Insights: Provide end-to-end credit risk insight, oversight, and opinion of the business portfolio, supporting the Head of Business Credit Insight & Innovation, Chief Credit Officer, and the Credit Leadership Team. This will include, but is not limited to, Board Risk Committee Deep Dives and Credit Risk Committee sector/segment reviews. Lead Regulatory Engagements: Manage relevant regulatory returns and responses on behalf of the Chief Risk Officer, Chief Credit Officer, and Head of Business Credit Insight and Innovation relating to the Business portfolio. Credit Portfolio Insight Management: Ensure delivery of credit portfolio insights, highlighting existing and future trends, associated risks, and recommended actions at all relevant committees. You will be a key participant in a range of for a and committees ensuring wider credit implications are considered within wider business context. Enhance Credit Risk Oversight: Develop capabilities to enhance credit risk oversight and insight across the business credit portfolio, leveraging new data sources and tools to support strategy teams with insight, data, and analytics. You will drive the capability improvements across Credit Risk, ensuring proactive management of the portfolio. Regulatory Knowledge Maintenance: Stay updated on regulatory changes and requirements for business lending capital, ensuring the Risk Leadership Team is informed of external developments and ongoing impacts. Ensure implications of these changes are well understood at a senior level and action, where required, is in flight. Quality Control Development: Lead the development and delivery of a quality control capability to ensure all analysis and insights are completed to the highest standard. Embed a rigorous and curious approach within the team you lead, ensuring it develops a reputation for excellence. Credit RAS Metrics Development: Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop portfolio-level Credit RAS metrics aligned with Credit and Bank strategy, ensuring the safe development of the credit portfolio.We need you to have
Deep Business Credit Risk Experience: Expertise in managing credit risk across various business lending portfolios throughout the entire lifecycle, including a good working knowledge of policies and procedures in credit risk management. Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements, policies, and frameworks related to business lending, ensuring compliance and adherence. Proven Experience in Managing Complex and Diverse Portfolios: Extensive experience in managing credit risk across a variety of segments and sectors, with the ability to analyse complex issues and make informed decisions. Strong Communication Skills: Ability to articulate complex concepts into clear and digestible information, both verbally and in writing. Experience in condensing and simplifying complex information to brief and influence senior stakeholders. Relationship Building and Conflict Management: Proven ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels and manage challenge and conflict effectively. Strategic Direction Setting: Experience in setting strategic direction and understanding market and regulatory challenges and opportunities, with high motivation and a professional "can do" attitude. Creative Thinking and Analytical Skills: Intellectual curiosity and proficiency in using presentation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Office. Background in analytics, preferably using SAS. Ability to Influence Change Positively: Turn ideas into practical solutions in a collaborative manner, effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.It’s a bonus if you have but not essential
