Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of ER strategies, programs and policies which promote productive and positive relationships between managers, employees and co-workers by helping to prevent and resolve issues between individuals. Ensures efficient and effective processes and procedures are in place and being followed in a consistent manner in order to resolve issues in an expedient manner, that individuals are treated fairly, and that actions taken are in compliance with Company policy and government regulations. Leads policy and procedure development for the entire ER function. Serves as back-up to ER Director. + Develops and coaches teams to be able to identify, manage, and escalate risk, and effectively manages risk within the teams you oversee. **How You’ll Do It** + Handles the more complex and sensitive ER matters at their location, which will include officer level ER issues and investigating formal charges from government agencies. + Helps to produce policies and procedures for the ER function and to develop, implement and ensure the efficient and effective processes and procedures for their location are in place and being followed in a consistent manner in order to resolve issues in an expedient manner, that individuals are treated fairly, and that actions taken are in compliance with Company policy and government regulations. + Leads team that oversees day-to-day ER operations with responsibilities that include but are not limited to, advice and guidance to managers, handle violations and internal fraud risk assessments, address domestic violence situations providing advice and counsel to employees, investigate internal complaints regarding fair treatment and compliance with ER policies and laws, manage ER compliance, ensure employee relations training is developed and provided, policy guidance to managers and employees on the interpretation of policies and procedures, support of the exit process, manage health and safety issues as it relates to threats to employees, Workers’ Compensation issues and accommodations, maintain ER records, gather and Analyze data to identify trends and gaps and ensure appropriate training for managers and employees is provided to mitigate risks and to promote and more engaged workforce. + Assists in taking proactive measures, based on internal data, information from the business, changes in employment law and ER company policies, to ensure education is provided to the appropriate audiences, and ER programs produced with the goal of minimizing legal risk, preventing the unfair treatment of employees and addressing ER matters. + Responsible for developing and modifying ER policies and procedure. Training for ER staff. Manages and coaches a team of ER professionals. + Drives continuous improvement and service delivery excellence within the HR functional area by ensuring a well-controlled environment through effective processes, workflow and technology. + Participates in leads projects with a significant scope/impact (company-wide). Represents ER in audits and associated action plans. + Serves as liaison for ER on significant matters, initiatives and standing committees with our partners in Law and Security **Qualifications You’ll Need** **The Basics** + Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Psychology, Business Administration and Management, English Literature, or related field. + 10+ years of experience in employee relations, employment law, corrective action, employee complaints, or related experience. + 2+ years of experience in people management. + In Lieu of Education, 12+ years of experience in employee relations, employment law, corrective action, employee complaints, or related experience. **Physical and Cognitive Requirements** The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package.
