THE JOB:
Provide direction and leadership for the Housekeeping department, consistent with the MGM Resorts brand. Responsible for leading the Housekeeping department in achieving operational and financial goals. Also responsible for leading team performance, scheduling and training of all staff members, and maintaining the departments' guest service in accordance with MGM Resorts standards, to ensure high customer satisfaction and an exceptional guest experience.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Oversee and manage guest service standards, productivity benchmarks, and department-wide initiatives, while coaching the leadership team to enhance performance and implement strategic solutions for guest experience improvements.
Contribute to the research, development, evaluation, and implementation of new products, services, standards, and technologies to maintain a competitive edge and anticipate evolving customer needs in the dynamic hospitality and gaming industry.
Serve as the acting Director of Housekeeping/EVS in their absence, ensuring seamless department operations.
Lead multiple levels of experienced leaders in executing and sustaining policies, procedures, and directives in alignment with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, fostering a workplace culture centered on client service, teamwork, feedback, recognition, respect, and employee satisfaction. Ensure effective hiring, training, and succession planning that aligns with the company’s diversity initiatives.
Drive key improvement initiatives and processes aimed at enhancing performance and efficiency for both employees and leadership within the department.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in hospitality, management, or related field.
2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in the direction and management of employees in a similar luxury hotel environment.
Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Previous experience working in a similar luxury resort setting.
Working knowledge of a yield management system preferred as well as technical understanding of a hotel property management systems such as HotSOS, Opera, and Amadeus.
An understanding of the legal ramifications and implications of various employee and guest actions, both in a bargaining and non‐bargaining unit environments.
