The Industrial Business Unit of TE Connectivity has an opportunity for a Global Product Manager (GPM) for the Industrial BU. Within a designated sub-vertical, the GPM will own the product strategies for the assigned global portfolio of ~$100+M.
This position manages all aspects of the assigned portfolio throughout the lifecycle, including strategy, revenue, profitability, portfolio decisions, roadmaps and new product developments. This leader is responsible for revenue and gross margin of the portfolio and will play a pivotal role in driving the strategy to scale the business substantially and accelerate growth over the next 5 years based on new product introduction, go-to-market expansion, and entry into adjacent applications. S/he will rationalize the portfolio and drive gross margin expansion through mix improvement and production cost reduction.
Strategy Development
• Outlines a clear portfolio strategy for the assigned product family that delivers strong financial results
• Creates breakthroughs (e.g., new market entry, new products, new business models, M&A, partnerships) through excellence in creating an ideas funnel, idea selection, prioritization, active experimentation, and scale-up of proven ideas
• Cascades the vision and strategy throughout the organization and ties it to clear near-term plans and metrics. Creates buy-in from the organization for the plan through early engagement
• Effectively articulates market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape and leverages that information to drive key decision making
• Develops product and technology roadmaps in partnership with engineering and sales that align with business strategy and market needs
• Works closely with R&D and operations in the development of new products to meet current and future customer and market requirements
Partnerships & M&A’s
• Builds a robust pipeline of M&A targets in alignment with the portfolio strategy
• Builds direct relationships with potential acquisition targets
• Drives the cultivation of the M&A targets in collaboration with the Business Development function
• Drives partnerships and acquisitions to build scale and enhance relevance to customers and channel partners
Business Plan Execution
• Defines resource requirements necessary to execute the product and technology roadmaps
• Establishes and executes pricing policy
• Partners with regional product management and drives empowerment and accountability that accelerates speed and responsiveness while jointly defining go-to-market strategies; Works effectively with the Regional Product Manager teams to drive execution of the product line strategies
• Partners with the operations team to define the appropriate service models to win in the market
• Executes flawlessly on value drivers and key priorities of the business – Actively engaged in the relevant value drivers
• Establishes and develops close relationships with key customers
• Champions NPI project pipeline while closely partnering with project management, manufacturing and engineering to drive products to market on time and on budget

What your background should look like:
• Significant experience of product management and strategy or business development
• Proven track record in portfolio management with demonstrated success in portfolio optimization, product road-mapping, product gap identification, and product launch
• Proven track record of meeting/exceeding financial performance including top-line and profit expansion, cost reduction, and margin improvement
• Global leader with a track record of developing and inspiring high performing teams across multiple regions.
• Experience working in a highly matrixed structure, at pace, and with high degrees of ambiguity
• Exposure and experience in the Industrial market is desired
• Strong financial acumen. Has the ability to understand implications of key financial and quantitative factors. Effectively draws conclusions from quantitative information.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent.
• MBA or relevant P&L experience preferred / “nice-to-have".
• Willingness to travel up to 25% (domestic and international)
• English language required
