Senior Manager Materials Management

Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Materials Management will lead the interfacility logistics and material flow, external logistics management, Cirrus Operating System (COS) Fundamentals implementation, the inventory analytics team/cycle count program and implement key business processes and systems functionality improvements. Works closely with cross functional leaders and peers in operations & supply chain to create and execute processes that ensure manufacturing operations has the right part, at the right place, and at the right time all while optimizing capital investment and material overhead.

The Senior Manager of Materials Management will also lead transformational change to our supply chain process, focused on leveraging the full capability of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, automating supply chain transactions and implementing Kanban material pull all while optimizing the space footprint of materials.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Leads the internal and external logistics teams. Responsible to manage the internal logistics fleet and external logistics contracts. Leads the Cirrus Corporate Cycle Count Program. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Cirrus accounting policies related to accuracy and audit-ability of all production inventory. Responsible for metrics and actions regarding aging exception transactions including receiving inspection (RII), negative inventory, and non-nettable inventory. Identifies and resolves material constraints including space, equipment, and labor. Responsible for departmental budget performance. Drives continuous process improvement, strives to improve efficiency, likely to challenge processes where favorable alternatives may be available. Leads the implementation of kanban material pull throughout the internal supply chain and promote kanban processes with external suppliers. Drives data analysis and reporting of key performance indicators such as: material delivery performance, supplier conformance, material dwell time and inventory turns. Develops efficient material handling processes to improve material receiving operations including the use of Advance Ship Notices (ASNs), 3-way match, and one-piece flow. Implements strategic initiatives. Develops succession planning for department. Develops and documents business processes for area.

Qualifications

BS/BA degree in Business or Supply Chain required, master’s degree preferred. 15 years of related experience with minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience or equivalent experience. Experience in operations, inventory management, Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and lean manufacturing processes. Experience with visual management systems and one-piece flow processes. Experience and leadership in design/development and implementation of ERP/MRP systems. Experience and leadership in design/development and implementation of warehouse/distribution and logistics systems.

       Preferred Qualifications

APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) required or hiring commitment to obtain in first 18 months of employment. Experience in establishing Kanban inventory management processes. Strong presentation skills and business acumen. Ability to concisely communicate at all levels within the organization and externally. Strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership ability, and the ability to manage the requirements of others. Data access/retrieval skills with extensive experience in data analysis, data manipulation using MS Excel, MS PowerBI, MS Access and/or other tools as provided.
