The Position

The Senior Manager of Medical Information Operations Excellence supports development, maintenance and training related to Medical Information systems, tools and execution of digital initiatives to help drive process improvement and efficiencies for the Medical Information team. The Senior Manager will also serve as the onboarding lead for the Medical Information team.

 

Relationships

Position reports to the head of Medical Information Operations Excellence. Senior Manager works closely with the Medical Information team, IT and other cross-functional stakeholders.

 

Essential Functions

Provide Medical Information Data-driven Insights Analyze data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights Prepare and present detailed reports and data visualizations (e.g., charts, dashboards, heat maps) to aid in data storytelling Utilize business intelligence (BI) applications and reporting capabilities to extract and interpret data Oversee Medical Information Onboarding Coordination, Lead System-related Training and Coordinate Ad-hoc Training Execute onboarding plan for new hires within Medical Information Develop and execute accurate, timely and current training plans for Medical Information systems/tools Create and maintain training documents Coordinate Ad-hoc training for the MI team based on new processes, technology and misc. updates Enhance Business Intelligence Apply in-depth knowledge and experience to improve existing products or services Use best practices and knowledge of internal and external business practices to optimize business processes Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data insights align with business objectives Continuously monitor and refine data analysis techniques to enhance accuracy and relevance Manage High-Complexity Projects within MI Operations Excellence Independently manage digital and IT projects with minimal guidance, ensuring timely and accurate completion. This includes, but is not limited to, creation and updates of insights visualization, vendor oversight for digital projects, aligning with cross-functional stakeholders, etc Develop and implement strategies to address complex data challenges Report findings and recommendations to stakeholders Drive Continuous Improvement within MI Identify opportunities for process improvements within MI and implement changes to enhance efficiency Stay updated with the latest advancements in data analysis, AI, and machine learning techniques and their applications/usefulness for MI Contribute to the development of data governance policies and practices to ensure data integrity and security Utilize BI tools and programming languages Utilize tools and programming languages such as Tableau, Alteryx, SQL Python, and R to conduct data analysis on various databases. This will be used to visualize insights, develop tools to increase team efficiency and create reports Support MI Systems and Tools Liaise between IT, MA, Commercial and other stakeholders to align on system needs and requirements Serve as a system expert to the overall MI team for all digital tools Stay abreast industry technology trends and offerings to optimize processes for MI business objectives

 

Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a scientific or medical discipline with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant professional experience, or Master's degree required, PharmD, MD, or PhD with a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience required; Medical Information experience preferred Strong understanding and comprehensive business knowledge in Medical Affairs within the Pharmaceutical industry Demonstrated understanding of reports and data visualizations (e.g., charts, dashboards, heat maps) Understanding of business applications and reporting capabilities of systems/tools (e.g., Veeva, Salesforce, Sharepoint) Understanding of data management, data storage and data governance Demonstrated engagement to enhance technical competency and knowledge of technological advances Experience with Tableau or PowerBI Familiarity with SQL, Python/R, or other programming languages Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, serving as a resource for less experienced colleagues Establishes and maintains effective relationships with internal and external partners Proficient in project management, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
