The Senior Manager of Content and Production for the Toronto region is responsible for the planning, direction, organization, production, and dissemination of content across all platforms (radio, TV, digital).
Under the general authority of regional management, you will work closely with all members of the Radio-Canada team in Ontario to advance strategic initiatives and key projects for the station. You will be responsible for managing human, technical, and financial resources allocated to these initiatives in order to achieve the region's objectives and regional services. You will ensure the adherence to established strategic, operational, and editorial priorities and the application of journalistic standards and practices for all productions under your responsibility.

Main responsibilities:
Participate in the planning of general strategic objectives, specifically those related to the sector and editorial line, digital content, impactful journalism, and continuous news.
Advise regional management on actions to prioritize in order to achieve set goals in your sector and ensure their implementation.
Participate in analyzing audience needs and propose relevant content to meet set objectives.
Ensure sound management of daily operations and coordinate necessary human and administrative resources for content production across all platforms (digital, social media, radio, TV).
Ensure effective management of all aspects of personnel management.
Motivate teams to propose and develop a variety of relevant content for the audience, whether it is continuous news, special features, impactful journalism, or social and cultural programming.
Propose special information deployment projects (special TV/radio programs, digital projects, etc.) and take necessary steps to ensure their completion.
Sit on selection committees for hiring staff or delegate a representative.
Participate in the staff performance management process and, if needed, propose measures to improve performance.
Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements for the Radio-Canada station in Toronto.
Sit on various local, regional, and national committees as requested.
Propose and implement more efficient processes and monitor the productivity of the service.
Participate in managing the technical park and the operationalization of collaboration agreements to meet Radio-Canada's technical needs in Toronto.
Encourage collaboration between teams and stations across Ontario.
Assess needs related to operating and capital budgets, and propose appropriate solutions to management. Control expenses while adhering to allocated budgets. Propose measures adapted to programming and production requirements.
Perform any other tasks or responsibilities assigned by management.
Your profile:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Ten (10) years of experience in the media field, with excellent knowledge of multiplatform environments
Ensure effective management of all aspects of personnel management
In-depth knowledge of the media, including digital platforms, Radio-Canada’s journalistic standards and practices, and the Corporation’s programming policies
Proven experience in team management
Experience in managing a newsroom is an asset
Strong leadership skills to mobilize, unite, and inspire creative and motivated teams
Proven ability to foster employee development and provide constructive feedback. Positive attitude and solution-oriented leadership
Ability to make multiple decisions while respecting tight deadlines
Financial management skills
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Understanding of the needs of CBC/Radio-Canada's audiences and viewers
Knowledge of the socio-cultural, demographic, economic, and political realities of Ontario
Bilingualism (French-English) is essential
Ability to travel occasionally, if required
Ability to respond to emergencies on weekends and evenings
