Digital Disbursements (DD) is a fintech company, led by a team with deep industry experience and a strong track record of value creation. We operate in the digital payments space and have a proven product-market fit. We specialize in helping bring B2C payments to the digital age and are poised for significant growth in the months ahead. Digital Disbursements was acquired by Western Alliance Bank (NYSE:WAL) in January 2022 and operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of WAL. The Senior Manager of Data Platform and Governance will be reporting to and working directly with the Chief Technology Officer.

Expanding Digital Disbursements engineering team to meet client, business, and Western Alliance Bank's demands to provide a Payments-as-a-service platform and help our clients integrate without core services. Not hiring this position, will slow the growth of cases, clients, payment fees, and deposits.

Looking for a strong candidate that will be responsible for leading critical payment rail integrations within the company’s core environment. The individual will be overseeing the organization's data platform management and technical governance efforts. This role will require deep expertise in AWS services, data warehousing development and management, security monitoring, along with strong skills in payment rail integration and compliance. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing support ticket execution to ensure efficient issue resolution.

This role requires a strategic leader with a robust understanding of data platforms, payment rail integration, software development, compliance, and security. The ideal candidate will drive innovation, ensure compliance, and lead payment processing enhancements to advance the organization's data infrastructure and governance capabilities.

Payment Rail Integration:

Lead technical integration of payment rails, managing the technical and regulatory requirements specific to payment processing.Collaborate closely with the development team to ensure secure and efficient integration with third-party payment systems, while adhering to relevant financial regulations.Provide guidance on best practices for secure and compliant payment processing within the platform.

WS Platform & Data Warehouse Management:

Oversee the architecture, management, and optimization of AWS services including S3, CloudFront, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Athena, RedShift, Aurora and many other AWS services.Develop and maintain data warehousing solutions that support scalable data analytics, client data needs and reporting.Implement data best practices to optimize storage, retrieval, and processing, supporting the organization's strategic data initiatives.

Governance and Security:

Establish and enforce policies and procedures that ensure compliance with industry regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and others relevant to the platform.Lead compliance assessments and act as the primary contact for audits and vendor questionnaires to ensure adherence to data management and governance standards.Oversee security monitoring processes, implementing tools and strategies to proactively identify and mitigate security risks.Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure that data security protocols are in place and updated to counter evolving threats.Conduct regular security assessments on AWS services, data warehousing solutions, and DD platform prioritizing threat detection and response capabilities.

Support Ticket Management:

Oversee support ticket operations, managing the resolution of platform-related issues and ensuring swift responses to stakeholders.Continually develop and enhance the escalation process for high-priority issues, ensuring critical problems are addressed efficiently.

What you'll need:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science required.12+ years overall experience in the following areas:7+ years’ experience in a manager or senior manager role.Extensive experience with AWS services, including S3, CloudFront, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Athena, RedShift, and Aurora, as well as data warehousing and security monitoring.Strong experience with MySQL and T-SQL for supporting and enhancing platform integrations.Payment Rail Integration: Proven experience leading payment rail integration efforts, with a strong understanding of payment systems, transaction security, and compliance.Compliance & Security Knowledge: Strong understanding of data governance, privacy regulations, and security best practices, with hands-on experience in security monitoring and risk mitigation.Support Operations: Demonstrated ability to manage support ticket workflows, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.Leadership Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams, vendors, and regulatory bodies.

Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $159,745.00 - $197,331.66 for Southern California. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
