Job Summary: The Senior Manager of Internal Audit is responsible for ensuring successful completion of assigned engagements from start to finish, inclusive of preplanning and wrap up activities while applying risk and control concepts and identify potential issues.
You will report to the Director of Internal Audit.
Primary Tasks:
1. Oversee specialized auditing work in multiple disciplines. Oversees and approves the entire audit cycle including, risk management, and controls over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations.
2. Responsible for managing tasks in the planning, scheduling, coordinating, reviewing and reporting of the work of audit teams; and expertise in auditing standards and performance criteria, audit requirements and information technology skills.
3. Ensure audit conclusions are based on a complete understanding of the process, circumstances, and risk. Obtain and review evidence ensuring audit conclusions are well-documented.
4. Review design of internal controls and identify gaps in the methodology.
5. Prepare complex audit reports.
6. Develop professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
7. Teach, train, and coach audit staff.
8. Use project management tools to oversee project progress.
9. Other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Understanding of the IIA Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and working knowledge of COSO Framework. Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and GASB. Ability to understand complex regulatory requirements and analyze their impact on operations. Five (5) years’ previous experience in internal auditing or independent external auditing or high-level governmental accounting. Two (2) years’ previous Management Experience.About the Choctaw Nation
