Position Summary
POSITION SUMMARYThe Samsung North America Strategy Planning Group is looking for a Sr. Manager of Strategic Projects and Transformation to help us take our growth to the next level by working directly with VP of Strategy to develop and refine our long-term strategic plan by identifying key shifts and trends in the industry in order to develop new market opportunities and business models. In addition, the group will leverage external experts and C-level networks to foster new ideas and facilitate cross-divisional collaboration on strategic projects and initiatives. The Strategy Planning Group will also be responsible for ensuring clear communication of these strategies to executive leadership and key stakeholders across Samsung. This role demands a combination of strategic thinking, project management expertise, and a passion for driving change within an organization.
Role and Responsibilities
Primary areas of responsibility include
Project Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact strategic projects that drive transformation across the organization.Transformation Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for business transformation, focusing on operational efficiency, cultural change, or technology adoption.Stakeholder Management: Engage with senior leaders, cross-functional teams, and external partners to align project objectives with broader business goals.Change Management: Oversee change management initiatives to ensure smooth transition and adoption of new processes, systems, or organizational structures.Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with strategic projects, ensuring they do not derail transformation efforts.Performance Metrics: Define and track metrics to measure the success of transformation initiatives against strategic objectives.Resource Orchestration: Efficiently manage resources, including budget, personnel, and technology, to support project timelines and deliverables.Innovation Implementation: Drive the implementation of innovative solutions that support strategic goals, from pilot projects to full-scale rollouts.Communication: Serve as the communication bridge between project teams and executive leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment on project status and outcomes.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to ensure project outcomes enhance business capabilities or customer experience.Project Governance: Establish governance frameworks for project execution, including oversight, decision-making processes, and accountability.Continuous Improvement: Embed a culture of continuous improvement within project teams, using insights from each project to refine future approaches.Agility in Execution: Adapt project management approaches to suit the dynamic nature of transformation projects, balancing speed with quality and thoroughness.Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular, data-driven reports on project progress, challenges, and successes to stakeholders at all levels.Strategic Partnership Development & CEO Networking Support: Build and nurture a network of external experts and C-level executives to bring innovative ideas and business opportunity/partnerships to Samsung. Identify, develop and manage Chief Executive level network in support of Samsung’s North America CEO in the U.S. market.Strategic Opportunity Assessment: identify, evaluate, and develop new market opportunities and business models to drive growth; spearhead creation of strategic business cases; Oversee development of strategic projects from inception to execution, facilitating cross-divisional collaborations and ensuring they meet strategic goalsStrategic Alignment and Refinement (with support from the VP and Team Leadership): Lead, develop and execute company’s long term strategic plans. Also, conduct comprehensive analysis to ensure strategic plans are aligned with market demands and company’s objectives.Strategic Meeting & Presentation Support: work with the leadership to prepare top management and cross-divisional level meetings and workshops including preparation of the agenda, presentation preparation, including all necessary back up analysis.Skills and Qualifications
