The Senior Manager, Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting reports to the Director of Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting and will be a vital member of the accounting organization. This role is responsible for preparing the company’s SEC filings such as Form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, Proxy Statements and other SEC related filings. This position will leverage an extensive technical accounting background to research new accounting guidance and the accounting treatment of complex accounting and financial statements disclosure requirements. This position will contribute to executive management presentations and Audit Committee deliverables, as well as support quarterly review and annual audit processes. **Position Responsibilities:** + Prepare the company’s SEC financial reporting on Form 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K and Proxy Statements including creation of auditable support, and lead the analysis and review of the content + Prepare and file various SEC forms, including Forms 3, 4, 5 + Prepare and review accounting reconciliations, journal entries and reporting in various technical accounting areas including goodwill and intangible assets, leases, variable interest entities, share-based compensation, EPS as well as non-routine transactions + Monitor and research FASB and SEC activities to identify potential rule changes that may impact the company. Prepare technical accounting memos and update disclosures as necessary and provide guidance to other accounting members + Establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders within the organization, including corporate accounting, investor relations, FP&A, legal, finance operations, business development and internal and external audit + Support investor relations in assisting with review of company releases and related matters and ensure consistent disclosure between release, scripts and SEC filings + Execute transactions involving share-based compensation vesting in close collaboration with legal, HR and payroll and maintain database integrity and oversee accurate record-keeping of stock plan data using the company’s stock plan platform + Develop, implement and maintain effective internal controls in relation to the technical accounting and financial reporting processes + Recommend and lead the implementation of process improvements including automation to simplify, standardize and streamline technical accounting and financial reporting processes + Work closely with external auditors to support the quarterly and annual audit process + Assist in the preparation and management of budgets and forecasts + Monitor compliance with NYSE requirements **Skills and Experience:** + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting + CPA license required + 10+ years of relevant experience, with a mix of public accounting and financial reporting experience in a large publicly traded organization + Big 4 experience preferred + Industry experience in engineering and construction is a plus + Strong technical accounting background, with the ability to effectively research, interpret and document accounting analysis and conclusions + Experience with SEC filings (Forms 10-Q and 10-K) + Highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team environment + Ability to handle multiple deliverables simultaneously in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment + Ability to effectively communicate clear and concise ideas verbally and in writing + Great problem solving and analytical skills to review information, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations + Willing to develop and grow within the company and have the desire to take on more responsibilities **System Requirements:** + Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficient in other standard workplace applications, including Microsoft Word and Outlook + Experience with Hyperion Financial Management, JD Edwards or similar systems + Experience in financial reporting platform.
