The Senior Manager of Travel Trade Reservations oversees the strategic direction, operational excellence, and overall performance of the Travel Trade Reservations team. This includes providing leadership and guidance to the leaders of three geographies/collections, ensuring cohesive operations across multiple regions. As a key stakeholder in strategic decision-making, this role ensures alignment with organizational goals, driving service excellence, quality, and efficiency in global travel trade operations. 

 

This role is based in one of the following office locations; Banff, AB; Jasper, AB; Calgary, AB; Anchorage, AK; Columbia Falls, MT. Some travel to and from other locations will be required.

What will you do in this job?

Strategic Leadership 

Serve as a primary stakeholder in strategic decision-making processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to shape the vision and objectives for Travel Trade Reservations. Oversee and guide the leaders of the three geographies/collections, ensuring their teams achieve performance goals and align with global standards. Develop and execute strategies to enhance team productivity, service quality, and guest satisfaction across all regions. Lead any tech evolutions within Central Reservations to remain competitive Identify trends, challenges, and opportunities in the travel trade landscape, and implement innovative solutions to maintain competitiveness. 

Operational Excellence 

Ensure seamless operations by implementing and refining systems, processes, and workflows to maximize efficiency and accuracy. Drive consistency in service delivery, leveraging data and analytics to monitor performance and inform improvements. Establish and monitor KPIs to track the success of Travel Trade Reservations and ensure they exceed expectations in responsiveness, quality, and scalability. 

Tech Evolution and Innovation 

Champion the adoption of emerging technologies and tools to enhance operational efficiency and improve service delivery. Continuously evaluate and recommend new technologies to address evolving business needs, improve team productivity, and support growth initiatives. Promote a culture of technological adaptability by ensuring the team is well-trained and prepared to leverage new systems effectively. 

People Leadership 

Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Travel Trade Reservations team. Provide mentorship and development opportunities to the leaders of the three geographies/collections, empowering them to lead their teams effectively. Partner with HR to recruit, onboard, and retain top talent, with a focus on professional growth and succession planning. 

Stakeholder Collaboration 

Act as a liaison between the Travel Trade Reservations team and other business units, ensuring cohesive alignment on priorities and initiatives. Represent the team’s interests in key leadership discussions and advocate for resources and innovations to support the team’s growth. Build strong relationships with external partners and clients to strengthen collaboration and enhance service delivery.

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

Experience 

Minimum of 5 years of experience in reservations management, travel trade, or related industries. Proven track record of leading high-performing teams in a global or regional capacity. Experience in implementing and managing tools like CRM platforms, workforce management, and knowledge systems is a strong advantage. 

Skills 

Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Strategic thinker with the ability to execute effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in analyzing data and applying insights to improve service delivery and operations. Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities. 

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
