**Who we’re looking for**
Toyota’s Operations Management Development Division (OMDD) is looking for a driven, innovative Senior Manager with a passion to improve, to join our team. This role will support Toyota’s North American Operations on a path of continuous improvement.
OMDD is the department that Taiichi Ohno created to carry out his vision of the world-renowned Toyota Production System (TPS). Opportunities abound in working collaboratively with the North American Manufacturing Centers (NAMCs), support divisions, suppliers, and Headquarter (HQ) operation functions because the kaizen cycle never ends!

The person fulfilling this role will support OMDD objectives in identifying and eliminating waste to improve productivity and reduce lead time through the entire enterprise to satisfy our “Customer First” philosophy. In addition, this person will learn and apply TPS basic thinking with the proper tools to visualize problems to be solved and waste to be eliminated.
The primary responsibility of this role is to work collaboratively with Toyota’s operations to develop your TPS capabilities with a flexible mindset. Creating strategies for improvement, maintaining daily project schedules, and producing /evaluating results are all part of this role while adhering to the precepts of the Toyota Production System. This position will provide opportunities to work side by side on the shop floor with your team as well as with key members at the plants, suppliers, and HQ operations in helping them achieve their KPIs and annual objectives.
**What you’ll be doing**
+ Develop strategies as a leader to WORK COLLABORATIVELY with plants, HQ operations, and suppliers to meet the challenges in a competitive, ever evolving market.
+ Exposure, development, and APPLICATION in the understanding of key TPS concepts (Standardized Work, Kanban, Pokayoke as examples).
+ LEAD projects with members of your team to keep the schedule and achieve activity targets.
+ Be responsible to DEVELOP team members in TPS basic thinking and know how (Internal and External) through related projects and training.
+ FACILITATE bringing key stakeholders across the company together to achieve success in meeting defined KPI targets.
**What you bring**
+ Bachelor’s degree or higher
+ Experience developing strategies to set direction for manufacturing and/or administrative projects to achieve the targeted business need
+ Experience leading and implementing Continuous Improvement activities in business processes utilizing Toyota Production System (TPS) or lean manufacturing
+ Willingness to expand your knowledge and practical application of the Toyota Production System (all applications).
+ Management experience in a fast-paced environment with responsibility for direct reports, leading, managing, and developing a high performing team
+ Ability and willingness to travel 75% or higher as needed.
**Added bonus if you have**
+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Operations Management
+ Experience working in a direct or support role for manufacturing
+ Experience leading or participating in a “lean manufacturing” or TPS kaizen activity
+ Experience utilizing Material and Information Flow Chart (MIFC) or Value Stream Mapping
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment
