Job Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, including Customs Laws, Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Chemical Safety Regulations.Stay updated on trade compliance laws such as REACH, CLP, TSCA, DGFT, BIS, and CWC (Chemical Weapons Convention).Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential trade compliance violations.Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate risks related to import/export transactions.Ensure adherence to sanctions, embargoes, and restricted party screening requirements.
Supply Chain Management:
Supply planning involves : Coordinate and oversee procurement, inventory, and distribution processes.Monitor supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement.Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.Optimize costs and improve efficiency in logistics and inventory management.Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and trade laws.
Warehouse Operations:
Supervise daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.Maintain proper inventory control to prevent stock discrepancies and losses.Implement best practices for warehouse layout, storage, and material handling.Ensure warehouse safety, cleanliness, and compliance with regulatory standards.Coordinate with transportation and logistics partners for smooth operations.
Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels and initiate reordering to prevent shortages or excess inventory.Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts.Implement inventory tracking systems and maintain accurate records.Analyze demand forecasts and adjust inventory planning accordingly.
Logistics & Distribution:
Manage inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely delivery.Optimize transportation routes and modes to reduce costs.Handle freight negotiations and coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers.Track shipments and address any delivery delays or issues.
Import & Export Compliance:
Oversee the classification of chemicals under HS codes, ECCN, and Schedule B for accurate customs declarations.Ensure proper licensing and permits for the import/export of regulated chemicals and hazardous materials.Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory agencies to facilitate smooth shipment clearance.Maintain accurate documentation for Customs Valuation, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and Certificates of Origin.Ensure correct labeling, packaging, and documentation for hazardous goods (DG cargo) per IMDG, IATA, and DOT regulations.
Internal Training & Process Improvement:
Train supply chain, logistics, and sales teams on trade compliance policies, export controls, and customs regulations.Develop and implement SOPs for trade compliance, customs procedures, and restricted substances.Collaborate with Legal, Supply Chain, Finance, and Quality teams to streamline compliance processes.Lead internal audits and support government or third-party trade compliance inspections.
Regulatory Reporting & Documentation:
Ensure timely submission of reports to regulatory authorities such as DGFT, Customs, BIS, and Environmental Agencies.Maintain records of import/export transactions, licensing, and compliance audits.Address and resolve customs inquiries, regulatory disputes, and compliance violations.
Job Requirements
Diploma or degree in engineering/ science- Chemical background is preferred More than 10 years of experience in supply chain(I/O)IATA & IMDG certification is preferredSpecial course in supply, material management are preferredIn-depth knowledge of global trade regulations, chemical import/export laws, and customs procedures.Strong understanding of HTS classification, export control regulations, and sanctions compliance.Experience in handling hazardous chemicals, dual-use goods, and restricted substances.Proficiency in SAP GTS, ERP systems, and trade compliance software.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with government agencies and stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple tasks, audits, and regulatory documentation
