We are seeking experienced, rigorous, and innovative Senior Manager to head Regeneron’s Automation Core R&D team, consisting of Automation Engineers and Automation Operation Scientists supporting all therapeutic areas and core technology groups at Regeneron.
You will play an important role in furthering Regeneron’s ability to advance our understanding of novel targets and biological pathways from discovery to pre-clinical development by automating lab processes to gain efficiency, throughput and cost effectiveness.
You will lead and motivate the automation core team by leveraging their extensive expertise in lab automation, contribute to innovative solutions building new integrated systems, and core services. You will also establish a strategic vision, propose innovative approaches, and rigorously assess new technologies, data, and projects.
You would also participate in Regeneron’s broader scientific community, participating actively in cross-functional meetings and representing Regeneron’s Automation Core vision to Senior Leadership.
As a Senior Manager, a typical day might include:
Directly supervising Regeneron’s Automation Core team, including Automation Operations group, providing vision, inspiration, and both short-term and long-term goals. Communicating priorities, policies, and goals of Regeneron Senior Leadership to the group.
Identifying new strategies, automation tools and technologies, for pursuing novel approaches in Lab Automation.
Setting priorities and ensuring progression of or go/no-go decisions for Lab Automation projects within the group. Being familiar with processes and procedures for moving projects from early conceptual phase through the development and final release.
Actively participating in departmental and cross-functional meetings to contribute Automation expertise and to represent the goals and vision of the Automation Core group.
Working collaboratively with the Research IT group to develop interfaces to allow scientists to access automation technologies.
Interacting broadly and collaboratively with other groups within the company, forging relationships and active collaborations, as well as using technologies to advance our research portfolio.
Leading and mentoring the Automation Core group, providing opportunities, visibility, and challenge to develop all group members to their maximum potential.
Overseeing and implementing adherence of departmental guidelines, assuring teams compliance.
Being a steward for Automation Core group and maintain professional environment.

In order to be considered for this role, you must have at least a BS/MS and 8-10 years of relevant experience in an industry setting. Must have experience in both extensive and broad expertise in the field of lab automation and device integration. Experience in converting bench protocols into fully automated processes and the ability to support and troubleshoot complex robotic computer codes is required. Familiarity with groundbreaking technologies in laboratory automation with a proven experience of applying technologies to biomedical research is required. Broad network of colleagues and collaborators in Lab Automation industry is preferable. Experience with managing budgets and organization of a team is required. Exposure to drug research and development activities highly desirable.
