Senior Manager SEC/PCAOB

Make your mark. The individual will serve all offices as a subject matter expert on PCAOB matters and a member of the Central Office of our Professional Standards Team.  The individual will be responsible for execution of the firm’s approach to PCAOB audit matters for its SEC assurance practice.

Your role. 

Your work will include, but not be limited to: 

·         Participate in the process of establishing audit policies for the firm’s SEC practice, including: 

o    Monitor and analyze emerging regulatory and professional requirements 

o    Proactively share best practice insights and information with the SEC/PCAOB practice, including the development of technical guidance and tools 

o    Lead implementation of new PCAOB audit standards 

o    Collaborate with firm-wide audit methodology team to ensure PCAOB audit standards are considered in the development of templates, tools, and guidance 

o    Participate in consultations with engagement teams on pre-defined and other audit matters 

o    Participate as a technical colleague on SEC issuer audit engagements 

o    Assist with the management of the firm’s internal inspection program for SEC issuers 

o    Manage SEC/PCAOB technical training plan and lead the development of technical training programs 

o    Execute the firm’s root cause identification and remediation plans resulting from internal and external inspections for its SEC/PCAOB practice

o    Develop and maintain an external network appropriate to the role to assist with developing the firm’s reputation within the profession and marketplace 

o    Represent Plante Moran in interactions with regulatory and external professional bodies including leading the firm’s response to inquiries from such parties

The qualifications. 

·         Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required 

·         7+ years of recent public accounting or other relevant experience is required 

·         CPA certification required 

·         Experience serving as an auditor on SEC issuer audits; strong consideration will be given to applicants with significant experience working on financial institution and/or insurance company SEC issuer audits

·         Deep understanding of PCAOB audit standards; strong consideration will be given to applicants with experience and/or operational knowledge of working with the PCAOB, including an understanding of the perspectives of a PCAOB inspector

·         Ability to supervise and develop staff

·         Capable of effectively managing multiple simultaneous projects
