Growing together** **Primary Responsibilities:** + Oversee the design, development, and deployment of Java web service applications + Act as service-level owner of high-revenue, business-critical production service + Lead the response to any incidents or outages, ensuring quick resolution and minimal impact on users + Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers and coach on opportunities and career growth + Guide the team in Scaled Agile (SAFe) best practices for coding, testing, and deployment + Oversee the implementation and management of Docker-contained microservices via AKS for event-driven communication + Work closely with product managers, stakeholders, and other engineering teams to align on project goals and deliverables + Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so **Required Qualifications:** + Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience + 13+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on Java applications + 4+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role + Extensive experience in Java programming, including knowledge of frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate + Proven experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure + Experience with Oracle, Postgres, Snowflake or similar databases + Experience in designing and managing microservices, including containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes + Solid knowledge of AKS, event-driven architectures, REST APIs + Experience creating and maintaining Splunk dashboards for production service monitoring, troubleshooting and performance improvement. _At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
