The team you will be a part of The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.This role in summary

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for Senior Manager, System Integration Leader role to join our Refrigeration Business Unit in Monterrey Mexico. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the product development for French Door and Side by Side refrigerators and serve our team in Mexico for the strategy and execution of our transformational efforts.

Your responsibilities will include

System Integration management to deliver Business Results and Product Leadership:

Responsible for System Integration management of New Product Introductions (NPI) and Engineering Product Introductions (EPI) project portfolio delivery incl Growth, Innovation, Cost, Quality, Regulatory, Model Line and Risk to Business etc;

Ensure product development activities are completed on time, meeting all requirements, including cost, quality & performance  targets to support the project plans and project execution as per Whirlpool Product Development Process;

Accountable for system level design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and technical decision making for issue resolution within the project/product plan and architecture guardrails.

 

Cross Functional Leadership:

Work closely with Business Unit Marketing, Subsystem, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing etc. functional leads to ensure product delivery and resolving the cross-functional  trade-offs/ issues within the project/product plan guardrails;

Responsible for collaborating in the Planning Process to ensure Right Projects are scoped with Quality that can be translated into Advance and Production development projects.

 

People Excellence:

Manage a direct team of System Integrators, project managers, Cost and Quality Managers, engineering planners and Advance product Quality;

Attract, lead and develop a High Performing team through coaching and feedback, aligning career goals with organizational objectives, celebrating team achievements and culture of excellence inline with Whirlpool Values and Leadership Model.

 

Management Systems:

Drive Product Delivery operational, strategic and people management system for monitoring, reporting, risk management and decision making.

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s in Engineering

10+ years of experience in Engineering product development to drive differentiated outcomes for product launches, cost and quality improvements cross-functionally;

5+ years of experience in developing high performing teams and Engineering talent development;

Proven track record of delivering exceptional and beyond results;

Fluency in English.

Preferred skills and experiences

Master’s Degree in Engineering or business;

Prior experience with home appliances or automobiles;

10+ years of management experience with significant leadership responsibilities to grow organization and talent;

Exceptional strategic thinker who proactively takes ownership of issues and drives solutions;

Proven strength in problem-solving, decision making, attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment to deliver results;

People skills to work in cross-functional teams with a can-do attitude, ability to integrate, influence and drive consensus across functions to converge;

Values the diversity of ideas, opinions, experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives needed to foster a competitive business environment;

PMP, INCOSE ASEP/ CSEP, APQP and Continuous Improvement Certifications/ Experiences;

Proven Budget management, financial planning and analysis, and Business case development/ value creation experience;

Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
