The Senior Manager of Technology Recovery is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the ongoing technical recovery strategies and related processes that ensure the continuity of critical services and systems delivered by Ferguson’s IT organization. Core to this is the development, testing and ongoing perpetuation of a comprehensive technology recovery plan for all in-scope systems and environments. This role leads a team of Project Managers, Engineers and other technical resources who support technology recovery and related initiatives, including risk mitigation activities across all internal IT groups within the environment. This role works with the Sr. Director of Core Infrastructure Engineering and routinely talks to senior leadership across the business and IT landscape to identify, develop and execute on recovery strategies and testing.
Location: This position may be remote or hybrid in accordance with company policy.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Develop and lead the enterprise-wide Technical Recovery Plan, ensuring readiness for service restoration through robust documentation, mechanisms, and testing.
+ Drive recovery strategy and execution, partnering with IT and business teams to enhance recovery capabilities and align with current and future initiatives.
+ Conduct business impact analyses and collaborate with compliance teams to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
+ Coordinate recovery testing and training, validating plan effectiveness and educating collaborators on procedures.
+ Oversee recovery solutions, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and integration with business continuity efforts.
+ Report on recovery initiatives, providing updates to senior leadership and maintaining agility to meet evolving business needs.
+ Manage budgets and resources for recovery operations, including forecasting and vendor assessments.
+ Ensure compliance with SOX and security policies in partnership with the CISO and security teams.
+ Lead and develop a team of engineers and project managers, fostering technical excellence and workforce agility.
+ Stay ahead of on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve recovery strategies.
+ Promote Ferguson’s culture, ensuring strong business customer relationships, responsive service, and alignment to company policies.
**Qualifications and Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
+ At least ten (10) years of experience leading technical recovery teams in an enterprise environment; ideally in technical leadership positions with increasing responsibilities.
+ Experience in developing, implementing and leading technical recovery plans in an enterprise setting.
+ Demonstrated leadership capabilities of 10 or more highly skilled technical staff with a focus on recovery of infrastructure, systems and applications within the enterprise environment.
+ Deep understanding of computer systems characteristics, features and integration capabilities.
+ Proven leadership ability instilling confidence and demonstrate the business value of IT.
+ In-depth working knowledge of key network, data center and recovery technologies.
+ Good understanding of current and emerging recovery and continuity technologies and how other enterprises are employing them.
+ Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate a technical recovery vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns to the IT and business strategy.
+ Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources are contended and navigating constantly changing priorities.
+ Proficient analytical skills, sound conceptual thinking, and the ability to plan and implement effectively.
+ Strong business sense, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business.
+ Expertise in budget planning and financial management.
+ Success in using both traditional standards, such as IT service management practices based on ITIL, as well as emerging methods like DevOps that are optimized for agility.
+ Illustrate proficiency in building and implementing a strategic plan for staffing and employee engagement.
+ Strong vendor management and partner relation skills.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts across the workforce.
+ Ability to empower in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
+ Preferred professional certifications include Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer (CDRE), Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP), or similar.
