Job Description:
Summary of the responsibilitiesThis position is responsible for supporting the France organization through the day-to-day management, development and implementation of best-in-class Transportation & Customs Services. He/she will report directly to the Senior Regional Transportation Manager. There are apr. 3-5 direct reports planned at this stage.
This function will be responsible for managing the current setup, cost and SLA performance but also to new strategic planning of the Customs activities (inhouse vs outsourced) and a new carrier portfolio. This should include the following elements:
Align with the demand of the clients on their future strategy and needs.Work closely with the carriers and Customs to map out the required cost and performance in our network.Create a roadmap to transition into the new setup.Supervision and team leadership (5 people)The person is expected to fully understand the Ingram Micro France network and capabilities of the major carriers and basic know-how of Customs regulations. The qualified person requires excellent communication skills to all levels within and outside the organization including giving presentations and a good understanding of the strategic direction. The person should also have an in-depth knowledge of the MS Office package.
The person needs be able to give essential support and work closely with the warehouse operations teams (in- & outbound), Sales/Go-to-Market, Customer Service and Finance departments.
Essential Transportation tasks
Key Customs tasks:
Support the central Customs team and agents in France for all importation and exportation shipmentsContact person for authorities, external and internal customers as well as support of other Ingram Micro France companies in all questions concerning customsIncreasing throughput and efficiency in cooperation with all operational areas (continuous improvement)Cooperation with employee representatives in warehouse, GtM and other required area’sBudget responsibility for own cost centers (control of invoices and customs duties)Contact with Internal and 3PL partiesCriteria:
University degree (preferably in business or logistics, or equivalent professional training and education)At least 3-5 years of experience in a management position in a Transportation and/or Customs role within a freight forwarding or logistics environment (preferably in an international environment)Some experience in international trade, Inco terms and documentationExperience with management systems or methods such as Lean Management Six Sigma, Kaizen etc. advantageousGood MS Office skills (Outlook etc.)Besides French language as excellent know how in the English language (fluent written and oral practice)Expertise in team & leadership management
