Senior Manufacturing and Equipment Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

The D&E Mechatronic & Measurement Systems Development (MMS) department provides cutting edge mechatronics solutions for ASML products. MMS specifies designs and trade-off technical solutions and predictably and integrates, industrializes and delivers mechatronic subsystems that meet business requirements.  This job, within the MMS Mechatronics APPS department, you  provide all means needed for the industrialization of all MMS Functions and the Platform.  

As Manufacturing and Equipment Engineer, your mission is to optimize the reliability, availability, serviceability, and cycle time of precision manufacturing equipment as it moves from the early development phase to operations at our factory in Taiwan and international customer sites. You make sure that all work instructions, diagnostics, tools, trainings and spare parts are available for the manufacturing and customer-support operational sectors. You are the interface between the Development Projects and Manufacturing/ Customer support. You will guard the industrialization aspects in early KD phases, support proto and pilot production (Work preparation, troubleshooting, knowledge transfers) and transfer the industrialization deliverables toward Manufacturing and Customer support. For this position you will also focus and drive the realization of the Service Sequence on platform level. You are responsible to reduce downtime the in the factory and field.

Work in multidisciplinary project teams, aimed at design of a mechatronics module or function/platform support New product introduction to factory and field, be the expert in analysis of complex problems on-site. Provide the industrialization deliverables (assembly, test and service sequences and procedures, diagnostics, out of control action plans, tooling, spare parts, training documentation, etc) towards the operational sectors.  Close the feedback loop by providing operational feedback (Reliability, Availability,  Manufacturability, Serviceability) to the projects and functions within MSD. Active contribution to the definition of the project (KD7) concerning industrialization. Knowledge transfer to local service organizations (KT's documentation + Training on the job). If needed travel to solve complex problems on site (international travel max 10%).Actively participate/own the escalation from the field teams, working closely with Development and Customer Support.Participate in cross sectoral meetings and be the link between Manufacturing, Customer Support and Development organization. 
Education and experience

You hold a bachelor- or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, applied physics, mechatronics or electrical engineering (or a similar field).  

You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a machine-building industry preferably including:  

Experience in a production environment with semiconductor high tech products and complex production and service processes. Troubleshooting complex mechatronic systems Experience in the field of Manufacturing and or Service Engineering or mechanics.Creating documentation and trainings with attention to the details.Ability to have broad discussions with designers of the mechatronic modules and influence without have to power to detail the designOptional: supplier quality engineering experience

Within ASML, the sector D&E is responsible for the specification, design and engineering, integration and qualification of the ASML products. The Mechatronics APPS department is end-to-end responsible for providing mechatronics and platform (architecture) solutions for eScan systems. Focusing on cost of good, Cost to complete, serviceability, manufacturability and early supplier involvement.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
