Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This role is based out of our facility in Sumter, SC and we are able to offer relocation assistance for qualified candidates within the United States.
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will support planning and execution of technical projects related to manufacturing methods, material flow, processes, facilities, systems, and equipment upon gaining comprehensive knowledge of existing capabilities and new technologies. This role will manage large-scale capital projects, evaluate, and initiate orders for machinery and other equipment required for production processes. This Senior Manufacturing Engineer focuses heavily on reducing waste, cost, inefficiencies, while increasing value and driving lean transformation in assigned production areas by leading/participating in continuous improvement (CI) activities (Kaizen events, use of Six Sigma tools, Lean Material Flow, etc.) You will be called upon to research and lead projects that implement various Industry 4.0 technologies, including robotics, automation, data digitization, etc.
Additional responsibilities include investigating and troubleshooting technical problems, providing day-to-day production support as well as longer-term strategic planning, implementing new product introductions (NPIs), specifying tooling, developing new processes, and revising and executing plant layout changes. You will occasionally write, review, and revise operation sheets, prepare or direct preparation of time/motion studies and train personnel. You will also support other cross functional departments, such as Quality, Supply Chain, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Design Engineering, and Front-End ordering.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Lead and support capital projects.Plan and develop projects to meet plant or division objectives.Write and submit capital appropriation requests (CAR) for new and replacement equipment.Track and report on project spending.Meet regularly with team members and leadership to present project progress.Process Improvement and Innovation
Design and facilitate tooling, jigs, and fixtures for safer and simpler assembly.Identify and execute cost-out projects through productivity improvements.Promote continuous improvement using lean manufacturing techniques.Develop and maintain cost-efficient manufacturing processes.Integrate equipment and systems using Industry 4.0.Improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs through innovation and technical knowledge.Collaboration and Safety
Collaborate with all levels, departments, and facilities within the organization.Interface with manufacturing personnel to improve processes.Provide technical expertise to support daily operations.Investigate and resolve safety-related projects.Ensure compliance with EHS requirements.Lead transition from project to operations through training and communication.Facilitate new product launches into production.Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of engineering experience or equivalent engineering experience from co-op/internships.Experience using CAD software (i.e., AutoCAD, Inventor, Solids Works, Creo, etc.).Experience with pneumatic and mechanical equipment.Industry 4.0 experience.Experience working with new product introductions.Understanding and use of lean tools.Skills: Ability to research and lead projects that implement various Industry 4.0 technologies, including robotics, automation, data digitization, etc. Ability to perform work with little or no direct supervision. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and facilitation skills. A result-oriented candidate that can drive action items to meet project due dates. Ability to lead and work cross-functionally. Ability to lead change initiatives in a team environment. Strong communication and presentation skills. Supervise in-house installations, coordinate, and perform machine/assembly process runoffs, and conduct capability analyses. Identify and execute cost-out initiatives through productivity improvements. Budgetary/cost analysis experience. Project management experience. Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, and A3) used to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions. Leads and/or participates in Eaton's continuous improvement initiatives, such RIEs and VSM events. Ability to deal with ambiguity and make effective decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Physical Demands:
