International is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Powertrain Assembly to join our team at our Powertrain Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, AL!
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, and support the production of International's recently launched T14 transmission. In this position, you will work directly with R&D, Quality, and production on improving current manufacturing processes and ensure the systems are building the product to the correct specifications.
The Huntsville facility runs a 4x10 production schedule (Mon-Thurs, 6:30AM - 5:00PM).
This role will support production and may need to cover production recovery times including Fridays and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture of components, sub-assemblies and final assembliesPerforms research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipmentMaintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operationsEstimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product linesRead and interpret blueprintsProvide Technical Expertise to quality departmentReact to machinery uptime issues and drive towards permanent, cost effective and long term solutionsStandardizes manufacturing processes by benchmarking other facilities’ manufacturing processesCoordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating resultsAssist in the accomplishment of plant quality objectivesFollow up on the implementation of engineering changes and variations from design specifications as well as new program developmentsPerforms product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiencyInitiates, develops and pursues capital appropriation projectsRepresents manufacturing on cross-functional teamsMay instruct, coach, or provide informal guidance to other professionals or colleagues with less experienceMay require travel to benchmark other manufacturing locations or to run-off new equipment.
