In this role, you will lead a team driving outbound machine distribution from Earthmoving facilities related to product availability and quality, inventory management and the transportation and distribution of that product. It requires working with facilities and business partners throughout the organization, including Operations/Supply Chain Managers at machine plants, Transportation, Machine Product Groups, Procurement teams, and Caterpillar component facilities. World Class Product Availability is critical to the Earthmoving Division and required to meet the marketplace needs, which differentiates Caterpillar from its competition. This Position plays a key role in maintaining this strength and delivering this service and expertise to Earthmoving division partners, dealers, and customers. **What you can look forward to in this role:** + Responsibility for Outbound **Supply Chain Execution, Product Transportation & Distribution** throughout the global supply chain process from the Manufacturing facilities to Port & Equipment Processing Center operations to the last mile to the dealer. + Accountable for development of the manufacturing engineering standard work for final machine configuration, quality processes, and executing machine facility to dealer transportation management with key business partners. + Provide new analysis tools to drive end-to-end visibility of inventory and throughput time ensuring flow through the network to Dealers. **A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:** + **Operational Functions:** Knowledge of major manufacturing and transportation processes along with associated quality requirements; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. + **Collaborating:** Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of internal and external groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. + **Continuous Transformation** : Knowledge of evolving the business to remain competitive; ability to understand, adapt oneself to respond to and proactively seek changes and innovation in the business environment to improve the competitive advantage of an organization. + **Capacity Planning & Management - MFG:** Knowledge of tools, approaches and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide world class levels of service. + **Lean Manufacturing** : Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes. **Top Candidates for this position may also have:** + A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a Supply Chain, Logistics or Manufacturing Engineering curriculum + Extensive, progressive leadership experience in a supply chain and/or manufacturing engineering manager discipline + Extensive experience in scheduling or planning within the complexity of global product distribution network Additional Information: Travel: Up to 50% The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL.
