Senior Manufacturing Engineering Specialist, Design for Manufacture

As digital transformation increases technology usage within manufacturing and as more new products are introduced every year, the smooth introduction of new products requires close coordination between manufacturing and engineering. The Senior Manufacturing Engineering Specialist, Design for Manufacture, will be part of establishing this core proficiency within the global operations department by guiding early stage new products to align with future manufacturing strategies; collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering design teams to coordinate a smooth manufacturing rollout of new products; and serving as a leader on the team planning future new product introductions to continuously improve the new product process. Further, the role will inspire change into existing products to improve manufacturability and automation, resulting in cost reduction opportunities, and improving make versus buy balance.

Hybrid Work Option:  This position offers a hybrid work arrangement offering a combination of remote and on-site work.

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Specialist, you will:

Serve as manufacturing representative on new product design teams to ensure that the planned introduction aligns with manufacturing strategy and the design is manufacturable Coordinate manufacturing planning and execution for new and existing products with world area and site teams through digital collaboration tools, meetings, or other project management tools Serve as manufacturing approver on technical reviews and other engineering design planning meetings to provide manufacturing input on early-stage designs Create global manufacturing procedures to document process details and share best practices Drive global initiatives with a dedicated commitment to improving safety, manufacturing sustainability, efficiency, and standardization. Lead approval process for make / buy product decisions, including machined parts, assembly, testing, and finishing processes. with the relevant WA Operations SBU Leaders. Ensure all levels of WA leadership teams, including affected site leadership, are aligned on the plan and provide feedback to the team until the final plan is agreed to

For this role you will need:

BA/BS in Business Engineering or Operations related field or equivalent work experience. More than 5 years of professional experience Experience collaborating with remote teams

 

Preferred Qualifications that set you apart:

Previous design or manufacturing engineering experience preferred Excellent leadership and communication skills in a global environment Five years related Flow Controls experience preferred Ability to affect and adopt change Able to work well with teams to tackle sophisticated problems Ability to successfully implement process change
