Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer

Vicarious Surgical is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our team in Waltham, MA. You will be responsible for developing, validating and implementing manufacturing test methods and procedures to ensure that our robotic systems meet the highest standards of quality and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, streamline testing processes, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities: Develop, validate and implement test methods and procedures for manufacturing robotic systems and components, ensuring they meet regulatory and quality standards. Develop and maintain test fixtures and equipment, ensuring they are calibrated, validated, and maintained in optimal working condition. Analyze test data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and areas for improvement. Prepare detailed reports and documentation on test results and recommendations. Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment on testing requirements, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement. Diagnose and troubleshoot test failures, providing timely resolutions and feedback to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Ensure all testing activities comply with relevant regulatory standards, including FDA regulations for medical devices and ISO standards. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to the development of best practices for manufacturing testing. Train and support manufacturing and quality teams on testing procedures and best practices. About You: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the medical device or robotics industry. Strong knowledge of manufacturing test engineering principles (process mapping, test requirement development, test method development / validation, IQ/OQ/PQ, etc). Experience with test equipment and fixtures, and proficiency in data analysis and reporting.  Familiarity with medical device regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO) is highly desirable. Experience with Python. Experience with 3D modeling and CAD, Solidworks preferred. Hands on experience building and debugging electromechanical systems. Knowledge of feedback control systems. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in a timely manner. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals. Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
