The Senior Marketing Director is responsible for leading the strategic marketing and innovation for Suntory's alcohol brands in Oceania. This includes overseeing above the line brand investment, P&L results, and driving growth in sales, profit, and brand health across AU/NZ for brands including House of Suntory, Jim Beam, Canadian Club, Makers Mark and -196.

This role will determine investment priorities, innovation, cost management and drive profit performance by prioritizing portfolio initiatives and designing/engineering the future portfolio.

The Senior Marketing Director, Oceania leads a team of 30+ across the Marketing function in AUS/NZ, which consists of Brand Management, Innovation & Brand Advocacy. This team works closely with Global Brand Houses and local cross-functional teams (sales, commercial, finance and supply chain) to develop and execute brand plans and NPDs.

Role Responsibilities

•    Drive the growth strategy for the alcohol portfolio, identifying market opportunities and key drivers (where to play, how to win). This includes leading annual brand and growth planning and budget forecasting.
•    Lead the creation and alignment of Brand Growth Plans and consumer strategies that deliver growth targets while maintaining the integrity of the brands DNA.
•    Manage total marketing spend and drive strategies that deliver against overall P&L and brand health metrics, including determining effective levels of investment and activation against brands during the annual planning process.
•    Partner effectively across the organization (sales, finance, insights, operations, R&D, supply chain) to align portfolio strategy to deliver company financial targets.
•    Partner with Senior Commercial & Sales leads to ensure the full effectiveness of Market Development & Commercialisation, which is how we set execution strategy and standards – via rapid review of learnings and improves the way our brands show up in the marketplace.
•    Partner closely with senior Commercial leaders to manage consumer spend and the delivery of top line (NSV) and bottom line (OI) targets.
•    Oversee the Advocacy function in AU/NZ, which is responsible for executing strategies to drive trade engagement and brand awareness in the On-Premise channel, via education and advocacy programs delivered across the Club Suntory platform and Ambassador team.
•    Oversee innovation in AU/NZ, working closely with local and global stakeholders to define strategic priorities for NPD and lead through to execution.
•    Sponsor and lead for the Alcohol Portfolio Review within the Integrated Business Planning process for Suntory Oceania.
•    Ensures Oceania maintains strong connectivity and partnerships with Global Brand Houses, the Suntory RTD Company and Global Insights teams. This includes acting as the Oceania lead representative for Global & Regional forums such as global ready-to-drink (RTD) innovation forums. 
•    Work closely with agency partners to deliver appropriate messaging, brand communication and media plans to consumers.
•    Ensure brand & marketing strategies and programmes are effective in AU/NZ, and synergies are established and leveraged from one market to another

Qualifications Minimum of 10 years in leadership roles in consumer marketing, preferably with global brands. Proven track record in delivering brand strategies that drive growth and profitability. Strong commercial and financial acumen and experience including P&L management. Relevant degree in marketing or business. Ability to work effectively at an enterprise leadership level and foster highly effective cross-functional partnerships.
