Content Operations is ultimately responsible for successfully delivering Disney’s entertainment and sports content to millions of people every day. This involves developing, operating, and managing a global content supply chain – the myriad of steps involved from taking a finalized TV show/movie, or live piece of content, from inside Disney to audiences around the globe, in their preferred language and format. This team also manages technology operations in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Job Summary:

The Senior Network Origination Operator will make use of exceptional skills to operate broadcast equipment and technology within assigned operating areas to execute live and pre-recorded programming and commercials as scheduled. The Senior Network Origination Operator will understand & execute these items and more, including but not limited to:  protocols for live programs, commercial and program log documentation, regional feeds and market protection procedures, intercom communication procedures, media transfers for specific operating conditions, and any required documentation.  The Senior network Origination Operator will hold a leadership role in the group, helping to define training, procedures and best practices.

Our ideal candidate must be flexible with their schedule as this is a 24/7 operation and should expect to work nights, holidays and weekends.  The ability to perform the job at hand under a tight deadline while demonstrating superior interpersonal communication skills is a must.  Other skills must include: organization and planning, being able to adapt to a constantly changing environment, strong communication and a strong computer background with programs such as Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

 Advanced network operation for individual recorded and/or live shows and events, content and commercial segments, in response to the changing creative and Network Origination operational requirements of Disney network(s)Exceptional knowledge and application of network control standards & information along with operating systems. Will conduct superior level of quality control measuring and take corrective action steps to enhance audio/video in support of applicable DMED standard operating proceduresExceptional understanding of workflows of other Disney business units and stakeholders, including their impact and/or specific integration with Network and Production Operations. Exceptional problem solving and troubleshooting techniques and effective communication with those business units to best convey the information necessary for the distribution of our contentApply exceptional skill level when interpreting and understanding complex information and demonstrate the ability to communicate it to others in an understandable mannerTrain others in operational areas, generate training documentation and participate in the development of training programsProvide support for Disney domestic linear networks, International networks and digital platformsParticipate in training programs, (physical, classroom, virtual, etc.) for self/career development and/or regarding any relevant equipment and workflow changes within the operationChampion new technology and workflowsExpected to identify problems and assist the management team with implementing solutionsAccurately document and report daily incidents as requiredComply fully with company and/or departmental standard operating procedures.   May support the updating of SOPs for assigned areasDemonstrate exceptional communication with timely follow-up analysis or problem solving with regard to operational areas or systemsExpected to share experiences and offer solutions to workflow or system problemsExpected to interact productively with counterparts in all Disney Network Origination facilities and closely related support departmentsCommunicate regularly with direct supervisor in compliance with departmental guidelinesProvide quality service in assigned area to all customers, as defined and assigned by managementAs necessary, participate in team based projects and contribute recommendations for the departmental objectives

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

Basic Qualifications

A minimum of 6 years practical Master Control, Network Origination or related experience at the large market or network levelAbility to work nights, weekends, and holidaysFlexibility to alter shifts/days off and work overtime to accommodate projects and departmental objectivesMust demonstrate ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines, work independently and lead simultaneous projectsAbility to work as a part of a team dynamicExceptional interpersonal communication skills are a necessityExceptional organizational, efficiency and planning skills are required   Must be willing and able to adapt to a constantly changing environmentCandidates must have strong computer background (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc...) and strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of all distribution equipment and technology within assigned operating areas, including but not limited to; server based recording/playback systems, master control automation and related softwareBilingual (written and spoken) – English/Spanish
