Senior Master Scheduler

The Role

QuidelOrtho is seeking a Senior Master Scheduler that will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Master Production Schedule to support sales forecast and inventory targets.  Helps develop the monthly S&OP meeting materials and agenda items.  Works with Manufacturing and kitting contract manufacturers to ensure the MPS is achievable within existing constraints and to adjust, as necessary.

This position will be onsite in Carlsbad, CA

The Responsibilities

Collaborates with Supply Planning to set and adjust Monthly WIP inventory targets

Translates projected forecasts and inventories into a production plan with a time-phased and build schedule aligned with existing constraints.

Schedules projected supply based on the product mix and provide accurate commitment dates to customer service team across all SKUs

Assembles master schedule reporting regarding performance to the business plan, the shipment plan, the inventory plan, and the production plan

Provides input to finance on operating plans for the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process

Identifies current planned level of demand and create tactical production plans to meet the identified customer demand

Creates reports to display material progress, needs, current activity and performance to plan.

Works with planning, purchasing, and manufacturing to resolve scheduling issues.

Anticipates potential expiration scrap and works with commercial team to find a suitable use.

Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies

Performs other duties and projects as assigned

The Individual

Required:

BS degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration or equivalent required

6 years of experience in scheduling position or related experience with demonstrated success of implementing & operationalizing master schedules

Strategic thinker, strong analytical skills, able to synthesize considerable and complex data

Team player able to work well across business operations and develop strong business teams

Proficient in MS Excel. 

Exceptional interpersonal/written communication skills; can effectively interact with all levels of management and coordinate activities as needed to meet global customer demand

Familiar with federal and other regulations, e.g. QSR’s, ISO, ISO 13485, CMDR.

Preferred:

APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or APICS Certified Supply chain Professional (CSCP) a plus

Knowledge of MRP, MPS, JIT, CRP, ERP2 and inventory management principles desired.

The Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of both an office and laboratory environment and may include handling of potentially hazardous chemicals. Some time spent in production areas and warehouse. Flexible work hours to meet product demand deadlines.

Physical Demands

Position requires ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion.  Up to 50% of time in meetings; 70% of time at the desk on computer/doing paperwork/ on phone, doing analytical work.  Some walking in manufacturing areas required. Position may require use of Personal Protective Equipment as posted.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $92,000 - $125,000. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
