Senior Material Planner

Reporting to Manager of Planning, you will build and execute raw material planning strategies for assigned plants or co-packers to support scheduled production. You will coordinate with Enterprise Procurement, Operations, Supply Planning, Research & Development, Brand Management, Finance and Logistics to ensure the needs of internal customers are met. In some cases, you will purchase assigned materials to meet production needs with the right quantity at the right time, while at the same time managing working capital.

Position Responsibilities

Ensure all ingredients and packaging materials are available to support ongoing production requirements

Proactively manage inventory levels to help mitigate potential supply and quality issues

Manage obsolete material inventories with a continuous improvement mindset

Provide support for planning materials or services, cost savings projects and process improvement

Promote the processes, procedures and metrics required from the plants to have a valuable supplier scorecard

Monitor and analyzes data to ensure adequate supply

Develop and maintain a working relationship with key vendors

Manage supplier inventory and print runs

Provide forecasts and coordinate inventory run out plans on transitioning materials

Monitor vendor quality and service performance with internal customers

Assistance with product status from time of order placement until plant arrival to be used for production as related to new materials

Drive consistency across plants as it relates to best in practice raw material procurement and supplier relationships

Additional duties as required including project work

Position Qualifications

4+ years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Planning

Bachelor level degree required

A proven track record of executing in a matrixed environment

Experience in influence management, project management, and cross-functional team building skills

Decision Making proficiency

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence with formal presentation of complex material in both small and large group settings

Superior analytical skills and business acumen

Experience using SAP or comparable ERP system

Proficient , but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel – vlookups, formula relationships, pivot tables, etc.).

Project management experience in a corporate environment

MRP experience

Minimal travel required

Compensation: 

Pay Range:$81,000-$118,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
