Senior Materials Handler
Provides expertise in the inspection and acceptance of incoming goods and materials, maintenance and optimization of appropriate levels of critical spares and stock, proper labeling, storage, and preservation of materials on hand, accountable for precise record-keeping of material quantities and descriptions whether stock or in-transit, and cycle counting, and physical to record reconciliation as required by corporate standards. Must ensure that materials are unloaded, stored, loaded, and moved safely. Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Senior Materials Handler located in North Salt Lake, Utah through September 26th, 2024. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: + Actively support Health, Environment, and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies. Carry out duties in an environmentally conscious manner while following Standard Operating Practices as described in the Managing Safe Work and Operational Excellence Management System, and Chevron Way Behaviors. + Receive, Identify, Inspect (non-technical PMI), tallies, stow and check condition of material and equipment from vendors, field operations or Investment Recovery. Prepare necessary documents to indicate quantity and quality of materials received. + Perform general warehousing functions, such as assisting in and executing cycle counts, checking stock, loading and unloading of trucks, and general work necessary to insure good housekeeping and safe warehouse operations. + Operate mobile equipment including hand, power and lift trucks; all lifting equipment (except that operated by Motor Transport personnel), scales, hand tools, power tools; Automobiles or Pickup trucks as required. + Data entry requirements utilizing warehouse technology systems including but not limited to SMART/NEXXE, SAP and others as required. Required Qualifications: + Minimum of 3 years Material Controlling experience - or Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a Manufacturing - Refining environment. + Must currently have or be able to certify on Fork Lift Operation + Must be able to work swing shift during shut downs and or turnarounds. + Must be willing to learn and become proficient in new computer programs and systems supporting the warehouse technology initiatives including but not limited to MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, SAP, SMART/NEXXE. + Must be able to work creatively and collaboratively within a high‑performing work team. + Must have strong communication and problem‑solving skills with the ability to negotiate and build rapport with team members and clients/customers. + High School Diploma + Valid Driver's License Preferred Qualifications: + Previous Industrial Procurement Material Controlling experience. + Familiarity with reliability efforts for a variety of safety, environmental and Procurement related issues. + Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers. + Experience and skilled in MS Office Suite, SMART/NEXXE and SAP.
