We have an outstanding Contract position for a Senior Materials Handler to join a leading Company located in the Laurel, MD surrounding area.
**US Citizenship is required.** **Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.**
Pay Range: $18 - $22
To support the relocation of staff and laboratory equipment, arrange conference rooms, and pick up and deliver furniture and equipment throughout the Laboratory.
Responsibilities:Supports the relocation of Laboratory personnel and equipment using dollies, hand trucks, desk jacks, vans, forklifts, and high cube truck vehiclesMoves office furniture, laboratory equipment, safes, and packages of all typesOperates Laboratory vehicles and equipment such as vans, box trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, manual and power toolsInspects and maintains equipment and vehicles to be in good safe operating conditionAssists in other areas of the FMT group as necessary
Basic Hiring Criteria:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 2 years of commercial move and/or hands-on material handling experienceMinimum 1 year of forklift experience and ability to obtain a forklift certificationPossess a valid driver's license with no pointsThe selected candidate will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record ReviewAbility to obtain or possess a valid DOT medical cardSafety shoes required
Desired Qualifications:Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Ability to lift up to 70lbs and walk extensivelyAbility to work independently and within a team environmentStrong interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to adapt to an ever-changing environment based on customers' needsMaintain good attendance and punctualityExperience using both hand tools and power tools (especially cordless drills)Experience handling Hazardous Materials
