ResponsibilitiesA typical day involves preparing and reviewing mechanical engineering products like calculations, drawings, and specifications, while ensuring quality and compliance. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers in areas such as fluid mechanics and HVAC, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support project execution and business development.
Engineering Product Development & Review: Prepare and support mechanical engineering products, including calculations, drawings, and specificationsMentorship & Technical Growth: Provide training and guidance to develop expertise in key mechanical engineering areas like fluid mechanics, HVAC, and heat exchangersExpert Review & Quality Assurance: Conduct subject matter expert reviews to ensure engineering product excellenceCollaboration & Teamwork: Partner with diverse engineering groups to deliver customer-focused projects and drive business growthOn-Site Problem Solving: Participate in site walkdowns to identify practical, cost-effective design solutionsCross-Disciplinary Innovation: Collaborate across multi-disciplined teams to tackle complex projects and deliver forward-thinking solutions Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited universityMinimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the mechanical engineering in the field Extensive expertise with pumps, valves, fans, heat exchangers, and/or HVACExcellent writing, communication, and presentation skillsAbility to travel approximately 10% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, but typically ranging from 1-5 days
