The Buildings & Places Business Group provides building-focused architectural and engineering services to a variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. We provide analysis, evaluation, plans, and design for facility projects that involve rehabilitation, expansion and new construction. We provide full A/E services to clients in the Transportation, Federal, Civic, Power, Water, and Industrial markets.
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineerin our Philadelphia, PA, Valley Forge, PA, or Marlton, NJ offices. Candidate will be responsible for business operations; managing junior staff; designing heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, plumbing systems; fluid distribution systems, fire protection systems, and site utilities. Relevant experience may include proposal authorship; subject matter expert testimony; conference presentations, code committee participation, systems design and applications; economic evaluations; life-cycle cost analyses; energy conservation; equipment selection; specifications; construction estimating; bidding phase services; construction administration; as well as start-up, trouble shooting, and commissioning of mechanical systems. Projects involve public works, mass transit, commercial, educational, pharmaceutical, and federal facilities. Experience with supervising employees, alternative delivery projects, and co-generation or compressed natural gas facility design as well as commissioning and sustainability certifications are a plus.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical focus.Licensed Mechanical Professional Engineer 15-20 years’ experience in mechanical engineering consulting or internal to a building engineer’s office - including experience with code officials and public agencies.A comprehensive understanding of mechanical building codes and construction standardsStrong understanding of DDC controls and controls design and operationKnowledge of Revit and Building Energy Modeling SoftwareExcellent writing, oral communication, and presentation skills are requiredEffective interpersonal communications skills, a team-oriented disposition and work style, where cooperative work sharing and peer to peer mentoring is a daily habit.Proficient in the use of Office 365 applications.Effective sales, marketing and presentation skills.Company Overview:At Gannett Fleming TranSystems, we believe in improving the lives of the people we serve.
