Join us and we can make a difference together. **About this role** Join **Carrier HVAC Engineering** as a **Senior Mechanical Engineer** and contribute to the development of cutting-edge **chiller systems** that will define the future of sustainable cooling solutions. The **Senior Mechanical Engineer** is a key member of our Chiller Engineered to Order (ETO) product design and development team dedicated to developing advanced cooling solutions particularly for the data center customers. In this role, the Senior Mechanical Engineer leverages expertise in thermal systems to design, analyze, and optimize chiller systems for maximum efficiency, reliability, and performance. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure that our chiller products meet and exceed customer expectations while adhering to industry standards and regulations. This is an **onsite role** in **Charlotte NC** . Plus, we’ll support your growth with paid-for external training programs and courses. **Key Responsibilities** + Conduct thermal analysis and simulations to evaluate system performance under various operating conditions and environments + Collaborate with internal stakeholders, i.e., product management, engineering, and manufacturing, to define project requirements and deliver innovative solutions + Support design and development of chiller systems, i.e., component selection, system integration, and performance optimization + Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development + Support product testing and validation activities, analyze test results and implement design improvements + Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in thermal systems engineering + Apply knowledge to drive innovation and maintain Carrier's competitive edge **Basic Qualifications** + Bachelor’s in engineering – mechanical or aerospace + 5+ years of experience in new product development or design **Preferred Qualifications** + Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, or Thermal Engineering + Focus on chiller systems preferred. + Proficiency in thermodynamic cycle analysis and modeling using own handwritten codes or commercial available software + Experience with product development processes, from concept design to production release + Problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a track record of delivering high-quality results on schedule + English communication skills, ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences + Team player with a collaborative mindset and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement **Additional information:** + This position doesn’t support immigration sponsorship RSRCAR \#LI-onsite **Carrier is An Equal** **Opportunity/Affirmative** **Action Employer.
