ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical design engineering for inertial navigation systems and/or mission computers, including support for existing product lines.Create innovative designs ensuring high producibility at minimal unit cost.Support root cause analysis and swift resolution of manufacturing line stops and other critical production activities.Collaborate with other engineering organizations, program management, factory operations, the global supply chain, and Mission Assurance teams.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with five or more years of applicable experience OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with three or more years of applicable experience OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 year of applicable experience.Expertise with mechanical CAD software; Siemens NX preferred.Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT), drawing creation, and tolerance stack-up analysis.Good presentation and writing/communication skills.Experience mentoring junior level engineers.Active DoD Secret or higher clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency with Siemens NX CAD software and Teamcenter PLM software.Expert-level proficiency with GDT per Y14.5 standards.Familiarity with additional engineering standards.Understanding of stress principles and component sizing.Creative problem-solving skills and self-motivation.Experience working in a team environment and handling pressure with short turn-around requests.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Work Environment
This position requires presence on-site in Woodland Hills, CA, with a 9/80 schedule allowing for every other Friday off. The role involves less than 10% travel and requires a Secret clearance. Enjoy working on innovative projects within the Sentinel program, with potential relocation assistance available.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
