Arup Türkiye is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Mechanical Engineering Building Practices Team in our İstanbul office.

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team based in Istanbul. Our Building Services team sits at the heart of Arup's commitment to sustainable development. We engineer innovative solutions that minimize environmental impact while creating comfortable and healthy spaces for people to live, work, and thrive.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Arup, you will:

Be responsible for the organization of the mechanical engineering team including the management and coordination of daily team activities and resources on projects, Be involved in leading building services (mechanical) design activities (HVAC, public health, and firefighting) for a broad range of building/project types, as well as being accountable for technical and financial performance, project delivery and quality of the team. Foster the team’s growth both in terms of technical and organizational performance, promoting learning from successes and problems within the mechanical team. Participate and contribute to the European Mechanical Skill Network of Arup. Be responsible for the overall design and management of large, complex, long-term projects – coordinating many different people/facilities/resources etc. within tight time and budget constraints  Be responsible and accountable on projects for relationships with architects, clients and other design team members (internal and/or external) as well as performing energy analyses using advanced spreadsheets and building simulation - software such as HAP, IES, eQUEST, and EnergyPlus is required.  Report directly to the mechanical engineering building practices Discipline Leader.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

A Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in mechanical engineering with strong mechanical technical skills. Over 15 years of experience in HVAC design, building energy modeling, and sustainable building design in national and/or international companies, Experience in the building services design of a range of medium to large-scale projects and sectors (buildings, masterplan, infrastructure), Knowledge of Revit MEP, IES/EnergyPlus and Carrier HAP. Having CFD experience will be an advantage. The ability to think outside the core discipline and integrate a multi-disciplinary approach into holistic coordinated solutions. No restrictions for travelling (national & international), and availability for short and long-term assignments worldwide No military obligation for male candidates. Excellent people skills and are a team player with excellent written and oral English communication skills Good planning, organizational and time management skills,
