Is your passion to design and develop new products? If so, this is a perfect role for you! As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in R&D, you will help us grow the capability of our product development team in Loveland. Your initial focus will be on particle characterization systems for scientific research, with the opportunity to design and develop products across our broad Life Sciences platform in the future.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
+ Work collaboratively across electrical, optical, fluidic, and process engineering fields to design and sustain life sciences instruments and technology.
+ Design and analyze mechanical systems to achieve product specifications.
+ Develop and maintain projects through product conception, definition, design, documentation, release to production, and sustainment.
+ Serve as a point lead for relevant product development modules assigned.
+ Develop component and system tests to validate the performance of mechanical components that demonstrate manufacturability, compliance with UL, CE, REACh, RoHS, EMC, and environmental stress.
The essential requirements for the job include:
+ B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
+ 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and documenting products.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including tolerance analysis.
+ Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
+ Strong CAD skills (SOLIDWORKS), GD&T, and documentation.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
+ Ability to travel – about 10% or less.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with SOLIDWORKS modeling of machined, sheet metal, additive manufacture, and injection-molded parts.
+ Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
+ Mechanical systems design, build, and test experience in machine automation, robotics, liquid handling, fluidics, or laboratory instrumentation
+ Materials and component selection for reliability and chemical compatibility.
+ Familiarity with ISO9001 quality systems related to design control, product release requirements, and audits.
The salary range for this role is $110K-$120K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
