Job Summary
The Senior Mechanical Engineer designs and enhances industrial material handling systems, working closely with the overall project team to design systems that exceed the project requirements. Uses creativity and innovation to tailor the standard product offering to meet customer needs. Provides direct instruction and mentoring for less-senior team members.
Responsibilities Designs and enhances conveyor systems, various automated and semi-automated material handling systems, static and dynamic storage systems, mezzanines, and modulesManages and leads projects, including planning and organizing work, developing and maintaining schedules, tracking, forecasting, and reporting on project financials, enforcing company safety standards, and ensuring successEstimates costs and develops bills of material for proposals and ordersPrepares, reviews, and coordinates drawings for proposals, approvals, and installationGenerates AutoCAD drawings from instructions and sketchesProvides direction, training and mentoring to less-senior team membersTravels to project sites up to 25% Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experienceMinimum of 10 years of related experienceKnowledge of industrial automation, including conveyor applications and equipmentProficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft OfficeAbility to lead projects and teamsStrong project management skillsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills and listening skillsAbility to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlinesTeam-oriented and collaborativeCreative thinking skillsAbility to learn new technologiesSelf-motivated
