As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions. You will drive collaboration with cross-functional teams, leverage technical strategy and best practices, and lead the successful execution of projects. In this role, you will further develop technical subject-matter expertise while contributing significantly to MFT’s growth and innovation. 

 

What You’ll Do 

Actively lead and / or participate in project teams focused on New Product Development, Continuous Product Improvement, or Feature Innovation. 

Design commercial products and their subcomponents with specialization in sheet metal structures and cladding, and plastic components, structures, and cladding.   

Lead problem solving activities using 8D methodology to identify root cause of issues and oversee development/implementation of a corrective action plan. 

Utilize mathematical and computer-based engineering analyses to design innovative and reliable solutions. 

Develop technical drawings, models, and specifications using Solidworks. 

Conduct testing, collect and analyze data, and interpret test results to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of engineering solutions 

Identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot technical issues, and propose and implement design modifications of existing product lines 

Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, project managers, and stakeholders, to ensure project goals are met 

Stay up to date with the latest advancements, industry trends, and technological innovations in a chosen subject matter 

Actively participate in continuous learning and professional development activities, including attending training programs, workshops, and conferences.

Skills/Experience We’re Looking For 

Strong knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and concepts 

Proficiency in Solidworks CAD software or other engineering tools and applications 

Knowledge of 8D or DMAIC problem solving principles and application. 

Sheet metal design competency 

Thermoformed and Injection Molded component design 

Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to convey technical information clearly 

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment 

 
 
Required Qualifications 

Bachelor’s or Master's in Engineering or a related field 

7+ years of relevant experience in an engineering role 

3+ years of experience with commercial equipment, foodservice a plus
