Senior Mechanical Engineer
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the development of mechanical products for high-volume manufacturing, ensuring high quality and suitability for harsh environments, specifically for High Voltage Power Electronics products within Power Drive Systems.

Job purpose

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the development of mechanical products for high-volume manufacturing, ensuring high quality and suitability for harsh environments, specifically for High Voltage Power Electronics products within Power Drive Systems.

Key responsibilities

Lead Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Mechanical CAD activities on new or existing projects.

Create, evaluate, and document mechanical designs using corporate tool sets (NX).

Support prototype builds and parts ordering and procurement.

Support ME documentation requirements in line with ME design processes.

Attend project and customer team meetings.

Support mechanical verification and validation activities, requests, testing, and documentation.

Support the change management process as required.

Liaise with suppliers during the development and sourcing activities.

Liaise with customers in all aspects of product development.

Understand and evaluate customer specifications and documentation.

What We’re Looking For

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Proficient in PC applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

At least 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.

3D modeling experience is required, preferably with UG NX/CATIA.

Knowledge and understanding of GD&T principles and their application.

Understanding of the relationships between manufacturing processes, materials, and component designs for plastic, sheet metal, and die-cast parts.

Logical, structured approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Design experience in a cost-competitive automotive environment with a particular focus on stringent sealing, thermal, and vibration conditions.

Experience with Ansys Design Space or similar FEA simulation tools is preferred but not essential.

Experience using DFA/DFM, DFMEA tools, and effective problem-solving methodologies.

Technical proficiency in a second European language would be an advantage.

Work Experience

Mechanical design in a high volume, quality sensitive, manufacturing organization.

Products – Automotive, Electrical High Power units.

Personal Requirements

Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.

Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Excellent timekeeping and attendance record.

Willingness to travel and work in a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined product development team spread across several locations worldwide.

Good team player.
