Leading design visualization efforts with 3D CAD models and essential component and assembly details to explore multiple design optionsDeveloping innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturabilityDeveloping engineering design concepts for components and electromechanical assemblies that have tough requirements for size, precision, reliability and costLeading quality engineering projects that provide imaginative solutions to engineering and customer issuesPerform failure analysis of issues reported from field, NCs, trending etc. including autopsies of failed units whenever available.Document the detailed analysis using tools like fish bone, 5 WHYs, Reliability etc. and identify the root-cause of failures and propose solutionsAccountable to choose design concepts and solutions, components, tools and methods.Developing and maintaining mechanical subsystem quality and engineering project funnelInfluencing cross-functional teams to implement quality actionsDelivering improvements to customer focused metricsProviding guidance and requirements to new product development teams in order to improve quality of new releasesAnalysing and validating material/component selection, tolerances, performance, cost, manufacturability whenever required.Concurrently manage multiple assignments and meet the schedules.Qualifications
Mandatory : Mechanical Architect experience leading complex systems architectureMaster’s/ Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experienceAt least 10 years experiences in mechanical design or project engineeringMaster’s/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experienceDemonstrated capabilities in thermal and mechanical simulationDemonstrated expertise on design electro-mechanical assemblies, sheet metal parts, machined parts, CastingsWorking knowledge with materials engineering, processes and mechanical propertiesDemonstrated experience in building engineering prototypes and conducting design validation testsProven hands-on expertise in one or more CAD tools for feature-based parametric modelling and assembly modellingUnderstanding of Finite element analysis and use of FEA toolsDemonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills and has the ability to work and inspire others in a multi-functional team environmentMust be a self-starter - Excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be willing to work from Madison, WI location 1-2 days/weekDesired Characteristics
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Energizing, results oriented, and essentially able to multi-taskExcellent teamwork, coordination and communication skillsExperience working within a regulated environment (medical device experience is a plus)Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targetsDemonstrated capabilities in thermal and mechanical simulationDesign for reliability experience.
