ChristianaCare's Medical Group department is looking to hire a Full Time Senior Medical Assistant, to support our Heart & Vascular Service Line!
The Senior Medical Assistant is responsible for delivering and maintaining quality patient care. Thy will assist providers in the examination and treatment of patients with virtual and on-site appointments and will operate as a team leader and mentor of office staff in the practice to facilitate functions and duties.
We are looking for a Senior Medical Assistant who will cross cover our Cardiac Surgery, Structural Heart, Genetics and General Cardiology (C4) practices at our Newark and Wilmington locations.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday: 8am to 4:30pm
No weekends or holidays.
Flexibility to cover at Wilmington two days per week on a rotating schedule, required.
Key Responsibilities
Rooms patients for virtual and on-site within the practice to include taking and recording patient Vitals.
Performs point of care testing, injections, medication administration and EKGs as per practice needs.
Assist clinician with examinations/procedures.
Completes necessary patient-specific paperwork as per practice needs.
Ensures EMR is up to date with all pertinent test results in preparation for next visit.
Assures adequate coverage within the practice due to staff shortage.
Participate in new hire orientation and other educational initiatives for staff as per directed by supervisor.
Handles patient call backs relaying information per the direction of provider.
Performs other related duties as required.

Education Requirements:
High School Graduate or Equivalent
A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or
Hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant is required; 3 years’ experience is preferred
