Exact Sciences is continuously expanding the pipeline with the aim of tackling a wider array of cancer tests through the following measures:

By 2020, Oncotype DX will have been used to guide treatment decisions for more than 1 million cancer patients worldwide in breast, prostate and colon cancer.

In July 2019 Exact Sciences acquired Genomic Health, a genetic cancer detection company based in Redwood City, California, for USD 2.8 billion, creating the leading global cancer diagnostics company.

In 2020 Exact Sciences acquired Thrive Earlier Detection Corp., a Massachusetts-based healthcare company, in a multi-billion-dollar deal, and Base Genomics, which has technology for DNA methylation analysis.

In February 2021 Exact Sciences announced the acquisition of Ashion Analytics, LLC (Ashion) from The Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), an affiliate of City of Hope. Ashion is a CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited sequencing lab based in Phoenix, Arizona with the genomics testing capabilities necessary to address the increasingly complex needs of clinical, academic, and biopharma customers focused on precision cancer treatments.

The company is based in the United States, with International headquarters in Zug, Switzerland. 

Position Summary

The Senior Medical Manager, Poland at Exact Sciences works closely with the International Headquarters to deliver medical affairs activities in Poland and potentially other EMEA geographies.

The role crucially supports the cross functional team in Poland by providing medical information/education through scientific exchange in a fair-balanced manner to healthcare professionals and medical thought leaders, initially in breast cancer with the potential to expand to other tumor types, as needed. 

The role will also include the support of R&D, RWE and ISTs in the development of genomic assays that lead to improved treatment decisions for oncology patients.

This position requires professionals with established personal and scientific creditability to interact with thought leaders and centers of excellence.

Essential Duties

Identify local national/regional thought leaders in breast cancer and develop/maintain scientific relationships with them (Poland focus).Support the delivery of the medical affairs strategy for Poland and potentially other EMEA countries.Identify data gaps in clinical utility warranting further investment in studies executed through medical affairs; act as a contact for investigators interested in developing and performing studies with the company’s commercially available assays across the region.Deliver national/regional advisory boards when external advice is needed.Provide clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited questions, as appropriate, in academic, community, and healthcare provider settings in both group and one-on-one situations.Develop and execute plans in alignment with regional plans of action.Assist in R&D initiated studies, as appropriate.Deliver a strategy for RWE across the region and a plan to execute against.Provide scientific and medical updates/presentations in local reimbursement discussions.Provide scientific support at medical congresses.Provide scientific support for appropriate educational initiatives.Deliver medical training and clinical updates to company stakeholders, as needed.Assure compliance with relevant corporate and regulatory guidelines.Provide feedback and medical input to local commercial plans and strategies.Provide input on the development of Poland-specific commercial materials.Strong team player capable to deliver high level and detailed information to the respective stakeholders in the Poland team (Marketing, Access, Sales, Country Business Leads).The ability to travel as business dictates, up to 30% of time.

Minimum Qualifications

Degree in Medicine/Medical Doctor or PhD, PharmD.3+ years of therapeutic clinical experience desired.6 to 8 years of industry experience (working in pharma/biotech/med tech).Expertise in Oncology. Experience in breast/GI/lung cancer is a plus.Extensive experience in managing KOLs.Experience in relevant geographies a plus.Excellent English & Polish mandatory, other languages is a plus.Experience in Diagnostics or Biotech industry is a plus.
