Senior Medical Manager Academic Cooperation

General Description:

Directly supporting the Medical Director Academic Cooperation, the Senior Medical Manager Academic Cooperation will be the medical representative in the market access team, s/he will review and approve the medical content in the reimbursement dossiers. S/he will support the team with his deep data knowledge and out-of-the-box thinking attitude. The (Senior) Medical Manager Academic Cooperation will also work closely with HEOR for real-world evidence generation.

The role requires close interaction with local market access and commercial teams to assure strategic dialogue considering local specifics and input from a medical perspective.

The incumbent will play a key role in the establishment of BeiGene as a valued collaborator and best-in-class biopharmaceutical company.

Essential Functions of the job:

S/he will be working with the market access and commercial team to support commercial reimbursement and market access strategies for the complete BeiGene portfolio of products.  This individual will shape the reimbursement environment and give medical input to payer strategies. This individual will work collaboratively and cross-functionally to communicate medical positions that shape a positive market access environment for BeiGene.

Additional representative responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:

This individual will possess a strong understanding of reimbursement and health care policy and processes and will give the medical perspective on the data and interpretations.  The role will play a key role in the cross-functional Market Access Group, supporting both pipeline and new market opportunities within BeiGeneReview and correction of reimbursement value dossiers from medical affairs perspective and active participation in hearings at G-BAMedical support and active participation in reimbursement negotiations with the GKV-SVClose cross-functional collaboration with HEOR and Customer engagementProviding medical analysis and interpretation of the business implications of policy issues to cross-functional stakeholdersCollaborate with external stakeholders as appropriate, including company participation in government forums and industry group meetingsWork across a matrix with colleagues in commercial, medical affairs, communications, and patient advocacy

Supervisory Responsibilities:  

Impactful verbal and written communication skillsAbility to effectively collaborate in a dynamic environmentStrong comprehension of disease states, and knowledge of differential algorithms for treatment decisions and experience in disease states of interest to BeiGeneAn expert understanding of the health care delivery system, including the managed care arena and its impact on patient care, regional medical care and the pharmaceutical industry. Experience & Qualifications:

MD or PhD, with relevant clinical / scientific experience in the indication field of hematology/oncology and public health; experience in Medical Affairs required and a minimum of 3 years industry experience. Experience in Market Access and/or HEOR is of advantage.Minimum 3 years of experience and success within other biotech/pharmaceutical companiesExperience of working in a Medical Affairs role, experience in reimbursement topics is a plusTrack record of experience in the field of Hematology/OncologyHigh level of communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational, and cross functional collaboration skillsFlexibility to work with colleagues in an international settingAble to engage in work-related travel approximately 30%
