ATI is seeking a Senior Metallurgical Engineer to support the Specialty Materials business unit. This position will be based in Monroe, NC. This is an exciting role to get deeply involved with our materials and work on cutting edge products. We support important work in aerospace and medical industries. You work directly with our OEMs and customers, as well as internally with other engineers, production associates, quality and plant leadership. You will own your own product line within the business to solve engineering problems for from a metallurgical standpoint. Responsibilities: + Review customer specifications and support sales teams by approving customer quotes + Create and implement items, recipes, mill instructions and other quality system documents for Nickel bar products + Review deviations and nonconformances, and determine root causes to prevent recurrence + Support certifications and testing of Nickel bar orders and shipments + Utilize Continuous Improvement tools throughout the manufacturing process of Nickel Forged Bar products, particularly for nuclear power end uses, leading to increased yield, better quality, and reduced costs + Provide technical support to supply chain, operations, and quality to facilitate the manufacture and shipment of material + Provide technical support to commercial teams during customer engagement for both on-site and off-site meetings + Communicate results to management, colleagues and customers in the form of written reports and oral presentations
