You will be the Materials and Process Engineer for our Engineering Department. Our team is responsible for developing and optimizing materials for use in structures, systems, and subsystems on major production programs, driving innovation in the aerospace industry.



What You Will Be Doing
As the Materials and Process Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing, researching, and developing materials and surface treatments to tackle complex technical problems. You will apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop specifications, fabrication, and assembly processes.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and optimizing materials for engineering applications
• Conducting failure analyses, life predictions, and material property development
• Creating technical documentation and input for data packages and reviews
• Coordinating with cross-functional teams, including product development, analysis groups, and production operations
• Developing and releasing engineering drawings and documents using Windchill

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (preferably in Material Science or Materials Engineering), or equivalent experience/combined education
Familiarity and a strong background in material manufacturing processes, material testing processes and procedures,
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.

Candidate MUST have the ability to travel and
be willing to work off-sight as needed for assignments.
Desired Skills:
Active Department of Defense SECRET clearance.
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Engineering/Science
- Familiarity with components and subassemblies
- Familiarity with evaluating and developing material and specifications
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints, machine drawings, 2-D drawings, CAD drawings and material callouts and/or material processing note
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with programs at MFC
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for generating M&P support documentation, material plans, material and process reports, and potential proposals are necessary
- Candidate must be capable of performing in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and working in an inclusive, team environment
- Candidate must have strong analytical and organizational skills

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
