Senior Missile Defense System Architecture Design Engineer

We are pleased to announce an opening for a senior Missile Defense System (MDS) Architecture Design Engineer within our Engineering Services Division in Huntsville, Alabama. You will be part of a dynamic, collaborative team that helps the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Architecture Design organization fulfill their mission to "develop joint architectures addressing ballistic, hypersonic and cruise (maneuvering) missile threats to protect the homeland, regional warfighters, allies, and friends." In this role, you will have unique opportunities to shape architecture(s) for the MDS and investigate means of supplementing the fielded, operational MDS elements. Additionally, you will become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces! Responsibilities: As an MDS Architecture Design Engineer, you will: + Assess MD threats, capability gaps, challenges, needs and opportunities, and develop potential system mitigations and capability evolutions. + Provide analytical expertise on adversary capabilities, systems engineering and flight test and evaluation. + Evaluate the adequacy of the current MDS approach and architecture to counter the threat and recommend courses of action for strategy, system improvements; identify alternate strategies for affordable, cost effective and technically advanced systems. + Contribute to development of MDS future architectures and roadmaps for integration of future capabilities, including advanced concepts, into the MDS architecture. + Support, plan and facilitate technical exchanges, engagements for workshops/summits, forums, and re-engineering of Missile Defense Architectures. + Provide reach-back for consulting services for key Missile Defense development expertise; facilitating efforts across internal/external stakeholders and providing strategic advice, guidance and direction. + Support Defense Architecture evolution strategy development through assessment of interim and final results of Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and other analysis activities to include top level requirements and test infrastructure requirements/coordination. + Support, evaluate, analyze and develop technical recommendations through industrial base exchanges and engagement with DoD, providing input on program process improvement opportunities. + Support coordination of team’s responses to MDA-wide tasks, data calls, and review and comment of MDA documents to include Reports to Congress and higher DoD requests Basic Qualifications: + Master's Degree in STEM Field with 12+ years or BS in STEM Field with 20+ years + Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI + Proficient understanding of the current MDS architecture + Prior experience and understanding of the MDA mission + Experience with application of M&S to defense architectures, HPC experience, MBSE experience are all pluses + Familiarity with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) + Systems engineering background or familiarity Preferred Qualifications: + Active TS/SCI Clearance + Master's Degree is preferred + Experience with BMD Benchmark + Experience with Cameo + Experience developing System of Systems + Experience with application of modeling & simulation to defense architectures nou (pronounced ‘new’) Systems: Since its founding in 2012, nou Systems has built a reputation for excellence in innovative engineering, prototype development, and technical and professional services in multiple markets, including missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, and space control.
